Does a 32X have the same pin connector as the Genesis? I seem to recall that I could put Genesis games in my 32X.

I ask, even though I've already read that the Retron 5 will not be 32x compatible. I wouldn't expect that a 32X with it's complicated video-mixing cables to work with the Retron 5.

I'm wondering if the software could be devloped to emulate the 32x hardware in a device similar to the Retron 5 or competing device.

32x works on the retrode, so it is believable that it will work on the Retron via an update.

I've read most of this thread, but I still have a question and apologize if this has been brought up before.

Will flash carts work on these? I know that no one has gotten their hands on one of these yet, but do these types of console have a good history with working with flash carts?

I love retro gaming, but space and money don't really permit me to have the collection that I would like. Honestly, I would love to have shelves and shelves of my favorite retro games. But, with a small house and two kids taking up all the bedrooms, I don't have anywhere to store tons of games. Also, in regards to money, If I buy two repros (namely Starfox 2 and Secret of Mana 2) and a nice copy of Earthbound I'm pretty much at the price of the Retron 5 and the SNES flash cart. So, this just makes more sense economically.

So, what do you all think?

No clue. Even if they worked on older clone systems, this one is very different so that doesn't say anything.

They've declined to comment on third-party devices.

My order is still intact with a delivery date of Nov 4 showing. I am assuming they sold through their allocation already. Clearly this is going to be a hot item this Christmas season. As for the flash carts, I watched an interview with one of the developers and they declined comment with a wink and a smile basically. So they may work, but not necessarily by design.
