Re: Forgotten games this generation
Lair on PS3 was widely discussed when it came out, but no one seems to remember it now when it turned out to have an unstable frame rate and actually be difficult. I thought it was really cool back then. Style over substance maybe, but really great style.

I still need to play Lair had been wanting it for a while and found a copy for $3 at game stop a few months back.Valkyrie-Favor wrote:Lair on PS3 was widely discussed when it came out, but no one seems to remember it now when it turned out to have an unstable frame rate and actually be difficult. Another early PS3 title which doesn't get talked about to much is Heavenly Sword. I think the game had difficulty problems in parts but overall I had a really good time with it. Was a really good hack and slash with a pretty damn epic final battle.

One of my favorite 7th gen games.RCBH928 wrote: 4)Eternal Sonata
I also really enjoyed Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World. Fanatics of the series loved it, but it slipped by most people. The fact that it's a Wii exclusive probably didn't help.
People need to check out TitS as well. Fantastic.

Isn't Tales getting a PS3 HD re-release soon?BoneSnapDeez wrote:One of my favorite 7th gen games.RCBH928 wrote: 4)Eternal Sonata

That's right! Forgot all about that...Retrogamer0001 wrote: Isn't Tales getting a PS3 HD re-release soon?
Yes and no. It's great the series is getting more exposure and I hope it leads to the localization of future Legend of Heroes titles.BogusMeatFactory wrote: Are you excited about the announced sequel stateside?
On the other hand, digital only is always a bummer. I'll end up buying a physical Japanese version.

Great game, Doom 3 on crack (literally feels like the same exact universe, but not a bad thing).RCBH928 wrote:and I just learned there is a Quake 4![]()
Only issue is the 360 version is really bad. Even at the time when it was new, man that framerate is horrible. I also can't seem to get the mods working for the PC version after I bought it a few months back, so I haven't played it in a long time. But I remember it being pretty solid, and most people just skipped it.

The orange box since it is a good value. Time shift if you want a decent shooter
although i would never play it again. King Kong as someone mentioned as well. To be honest I had sega rally and it was thrash at least in my opinion. I would say that
I enjoyed need for speed shift a lot more. I played conan and splatter house through a friend and I recommend that you stay away. Dark sector is ok. Avoid turok at all cost.

And yet they just reprinted that version. It's not like most people can't run it on PC considering it's now eight years old. I guess some people don't mind terrible framerates.Xeogred wrote: Only issue is the 360 version is really bad. Even at the time when it was new, man that framerate is horrible.

I agree with AppleQuesso , those are not forgotten, those are a reason to purchase the system. But I am worried that Dark Souls and Demon Souls are too much of a similar thing. I made this mistake when I played GTA3, Vice, Andreas . It felt repetitive. At first I thought you meant DarkSiders. Low prices of Demon Soul is not a good sign because it means that people do not value the game, hinting it didn't sell well = No more of the same kind of games in the future.
@Fragems
I dont even know about Binary Domains , I will look it up thanks. Heavenly Sword definitely fits the description. There was that other game too where you travel with a giant, I forgot its name .
@TheBrick
Brutal Legends fits the description except that I have that one on my mind, but not sure how good the game is. I think it didn't sell well
@GamerForLife
I read about Puppeteer recently and forgot about it already. Thanks . Viva Pinata is another good example although I totally forgot whats the game about.
@Damm64
Totally forgot about Splatterhouse . There was also another game that didn't sell well for some famous developer. I forgot it but it was wierd
@Valkyrie-Favor
I forgot about Lair, but I never heard anything good about that game so I just kind of didn't care about it.
@BoneSnapDeez
I am not an RPG fan but Sonata is to my likings due to the environment and graphics. I have made mistakes in the past of picking games based on the looks. Hopefully not this one..
@segasaturnboy
I don't like racing games but I like Need for Speed. Hopefully its just as good as always...
@Xeogred
I guess I won't be playing that game then. There is no PS3 release and if the 360 version is bad then it is bad. I have no gaming PC and my Macbook is core 2 dou , 2GHZ, GeForce 9400M 256mb. I doubt it can run the game. Actually it has difficulties running older games in emulation.

I believe there was an MDK HD release too, am I wrong? I wonder how many of these titles are available in a download version on PSN. It will just save me a lot on shipping money.
