Favorite Virtual Console Releases for October?
Howdy, I was just updating my website and wondered what y'all thought about October's crop of Virtual Console releases. Any favorites? In general, the VC games are coming out as a much slower pace then when the service first started, but it also seems like there's a lot less chaff being released lately, so I'm cool with quality over quantity. One thing that did really bother me, though. While the release of Castlevania III (on Halloween no less!) for the PAL Region was pretty awesome, why didn't Nintendo go the extra distance and provide the superior sound that was featured only in the original Japanese release? Back in the day, that meant an extra sound chip, which meant extra cost for carts, but when you're dealing in virtual games, there isn't any significant extra cost entailed. Come on Nintendo! Step it up!
I run the 8/16-bit retro site TimeWarpGamer and if you want to follow the latest updates, check me out on Twitter.

I am looking forward to a multiplayer game of Secret of Mana. I didn't enjoy it much playing solo.
I'm also surprised that Square was willing to make this game available for download considering their track record with all the "enhanced" re-releases. They could have easily thrown in an extra dungeon, put it on a DS cart, and charged $40 for it.
