Forgotten games this generation

Post by RCBH928 »

As I plan to get a ps3 in the coming months , we all remember the GTAs, COD, God of Wars, and Assassin Creeds . But what some games that have been released this generation that were solid but has been forgotten , or likely to be missed over time?

Of the games that I meant to play but forgot over time:
1) King Kong
2)Kameo
3)Serious Sam HD
4)Eternal Sonata

and I just learned there is a Quake 4

I am hoping that you remind me of games I possible have forgotten about to build my upcoming "To Play" list. Yes I said I will buy a ps3, but I already own a 360. So its not a ps3 only thing...

ports and remakes are welcomed too. I do not own a PC but having a Diablo 3 for ps3 made it possible for me to play this game.

I can't recommend Demon's Souls and Dark Souls enough - both are dirt cheap and must-play games on the console. Also, don't forget the Uncharted games!

I don't think you could classify any of those games as "forgotten"

I guess I focused too much on this part of his post - because the Souls games ARE must-play games! Play them and become humbled!

I'd list a few titles, but I forgot them.

Binary Domain its kind of on the border line of "forgotten/passed over". Was one of my favorite games of the gen and probably my favorite third person shooter of all time.

Dark Souls I wouldn't list as "forgotten" but it is crazy how many people completely overlooked Demon Souls :P. Especially when it came to PC a lot of people in the community had no clue Demon Souls existed.

I think Puppeteer will become one of those games. I'm halfway through it and I'm already feeling like calling it a cult classic. I'm amazed at how clever the writing is. It walks the line between family friendly and adult so perfectly, like one scene where a guy compares a woman to a beautiful flower and says he wants to, "pluck her" tonight

It's visually amazing, fun to play, and very original. And cheesy as it sounds, the game has a certain "magic" to it.

The Viva Pinata games seem forgotten as well. I never hear anyone talk about them. When I hear people rave about the new Animal Crossing, it sounds similar in a lot of ways to the Viva Pinata games but gets far more attention. I've never actually played an Animal Crossing game though. Viva Pinata was really on the wrong console. A system built around tough guys with guns is no place for a cutesy, Nintendo feeling game like Viva Pinata

The Dark Souls games get raved about on practically every gaming forum you go to. I don't think they qualify for this thread.

Maybe splaterhouse could fit into this one, fans like it but critics hate it every aspect of the game, it also has the 3 classic games to be unlocked (the first game is the arcade version!).

We should made this the "oficial thread" of forgoten games of this gem and keep a list in order to avoid clone topics.

I recently beat Splaterhouse (360) and Splatter house (unlockable). 2&3 will be beaten soon.

The 360 game is very "Arkham Asylum" as they share a similar fight control system, but SH also has some incredible throw back side scrolling levels that are crack for a retro gamer.
