I own a copy of Super Return of the Jedi. I knew the game would be hard, the series has a reputation for it. I'm just wondering this:
Did the series get progressively harder (as in, is Return of the Jedi harder than the original Star Wars and Empire Strikes Back) or is every single game its own thing, so it begins with simpler first levels, and then climbs up in difficulty?
Is the Super Star Wars Trilogy progressively harder?

No, these games are just insanely random all over the place. I think I've beaten the first one, but I'm not sure, but Jedi is the one I've actually been able to clear decently enough after time. I don't know if I've ever successfully finished Empire, seriously.

hm interesting. Would you say the games are fairly designed? Cause I remember that in the desert stage (like first or second stage) I got killed many times cause I needed to make leaps of faith.
I have to say the fundamentals of the game are amazing, but the difficulty feels a bit too much

I haven't played them since I was a kid, but I think the first one was the only one I didn't beat and felt it was the toughest.

I've made it pretty far in each game, but never really completed any of them. They're fun, but you best be good with jumping and good luck not getting lost

Are different characters good for different levels, or are there some that are just better at all/most of them?

I recall Chewbacca usually having a ton of HP? But he was slow or something.ZeroAX wrote:Are different characters good for different levels, or are there some that are just better at all/most of them?
I think in general I stuck to Luke and abused his jumping lightsaber spin attack (hmmm... reminds me of Zero in X4-X6, lol).

I always felt Leia was pretty awesome in RotJ until the Bunker, since that charge attack would blow through everything on the screen.
In terms of difficulty, I feel like RotJ is easiest, then Super Star Wars, and Empire is the hardest. At least at the beginning Empire has a lot of bullshit jumps that can instant kill you.

Yeah, guess I'm not alone. I have faint memories of some Han Solo stages at Cloud City or something being an absolute maze and nearly impossible to navigate.MrPopo wrote:In terms of difficulty, I feel like RotJ is easiest, then Super Star Wars, and Empire is the hardest. The crazy vehicle stages in these games never help either.

Yes. Who thought avoiding tiny obsticles in Mode-7 graphics would have been fun?Xeogred wrote: The crazy vehicle stages in these games never help either.
