I know there's the min of $100 spent. How do I check how much I've spent?

You have to make sure your Steam account is set, if only briefly, to public, and then authorize Steam Gifts to view your public account details to gather info of all the games connected to your Steam account. After Steam Gifts has collected your purchased titles you can turn off public access again.
