I know there are a couple of games on the OLD Xbox where you can choose in the options to play your own music that you have transferred to the xbox hard drive. I know that Burnout 3 has support for this.
But HOW do you copy music to your xbox? I cant find any info or guides on this anywhere. Please help!

The XBox can rip audio CDs you put in it. I'm not entirely sure, but I think that's all it supports.
What I remember doing is burning a CD of assorted MP3s, then ripping it with the XBox, in order to put Sir Mix-a-lot into the DOAX tracklist.

It's usually in the Options menu of supported games I think. I can only remember a few games supporting it, like Forza and one of the Tony Hawk games.Thermoptic wrote:I know there are a couple of games on the OLD Xbox where you can choose in the options to play your own music that you have transferred to the xbox hard drive. It is just an option in the console's dash somewhere.

THIS. Just leave the game disc out and go to thru the Dashboard. Insert a music CD when prompted to install the tracks to the hard drive. Only games that have Custom Soundtrack option on the cover can access the installed music CD tracks.Hobie-wan wrote:It is just an option in the console's dash somewhere.
Now why doe Battlestar Galactica not play the installed music? Maybe a misprint of the cover?

You need to turn on the XBOX without a Disc and go to Music Player, insert disc and will give an option to copy to HDD.
I had a soundtrack for Burnout 3, my wife and I played that game to 100%. We had a blast and it's still one of our favorites.

Great it worked! Thanks for the help!
I was surprised that i got no hits on youtube or google on this so im making a tutorial video of it now
There is just one more thing i would like to know. My Xbox is modded so i can access the harddrive via ftp.. does anyone know where these music tracks are located on the harddrive?
the xbox dash rips the music from a cd and probably compresses them to mp3 or wma somewhere on the hdd.. but where? would be cool if i just could copy my own music directly to this folder instead of ripping them from the dash.

they are in E drive in Udata or tdata don't remember.
I think you need to rip using dashboard or you will need an app that links MP3s for use in Games.

Why did they do away with custom soundtracks on the xbox 360, its a real shame. The gta games were so much fun with your own radio station with custom music.
