S.T.A.L.K.E.R crashes after a few minutes of gaming for me. Complete total system lock up. It looks like my GPU has forced reset (y'know with the screen going completely scrambled) because of high temps but it never got past 70c! Even with the latest patches I just couldn't get the game to run longer than 10 minutes without crashing the entire PC. (I'm running Vista x64)

I hate to say it, but I'm glad I'm not the only one. It does this to my machine too. Apparently the patches actually cause the game to require more power, so in a sense it's less stable. I've also read on some of the forums for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. that it was built with Nvidia cards in mind. I'm running an ATI(and a model from '05, too), so it's not really liking my card. I've managed to beat it once, when it first came out. I want to upgrade before I get Clear Sky...

Finished it and loved it.. 13 chapters of goodness. It was a pretty long game considering a lot of new shooters coming out now can be beaten in a weekend. I will probably go though it again in a few weeks on a harder setting.I wonder how Aliens will pan out in February 2009, will it be better than Dead Space?

In the meantime, I'm looking forward to Heavy Rain. It's not a shooter, but more of a horror game. I also want to play Alan Wake, if that bloody game ever comes out.
