It seems a good amount of the games on xbox360 these days are also available on PC.
In terms graphics are the pc versions usually superior to the xbox versions? Amusing your having a pretty decent rig? Are the current games console to pc ports technically or would not be a port being specifcially designed for pc in mind?

PC games vs xbox360 games
Re: PC games vs xbox360 games
Always, but It's honestly not worth it if you already have a current-gen console.holaback wrote: In terms graphics are the pc versions usually superior to the xbox versions? Amusing your having a pretty decent rig?

how is it not worth it if you already own the computer
Re: PC games vs xbox360 games
Sorry, I was under the impression that you didn't have one. If you do, then you should know that the graphics are always slightly better than the console ports. There's really no reason to have both a 360 and a gaming PC though.

THANK you. Someone who agrees.Citizin wrote:Sorry, I was under the impression that you didn't have one. If you do, then you should know that the graphics are always slightly better than the console ports. There's really no reason to have both a 360 and a gaming PC though.
Re: PC games vs xbox360 games
There's several good points in having a gaming pc. Games are cheaper vs 360, fps are better on the PC, greater option of control, better customization, plus you get a PC that you can do anything on. Besides the games library isn't just limited to Games for Windows. There's games spanning several decades that you just can't get on 360, plus all the great RTS games for PC that just don't work on consoles.
There's also many games available for the 360 that aren't available on PC, for example all the xbox live arcade content that is original, Dead Rising, Rock Band, N3, Forza 2, Condemned, Crackdown, Chromehounds, Amped 3, Kameo, PGR 3 & 4, Ridge Racer 6, Viva Pinata, Lost Odyssey, Dead Or Alive 4, Fable 2...
There's plenty of reasons to have both.

Viva Piniata is on PC. As is Condemned.Niode wrote:There's several good points in having a gaming pc. Re: PC games vs xbox360 games
I guess for anyone who doesn't mind constantly upgrading their PC, a 360 isn't necessary at all. However, as has been stated already, there is the Xbox Live content. Funny thing is, that stuff could easily be brought to PC but you know Microsoft won't allow it. Gotta give people SOME reason to own a 360. However, I heard Braid was getting ported to PC.
For me, I just can't stand mouse and keyboard and I don't like having to upgrade my PC all the time so I stick with the 360, but I acknowledge the superiority of PC for most 360 games. I love Mass Effect and I hear the PC port is a nicer looking and more polished version than the original. Wish I had a good PC just for that. Oh well

Re: PC games vs xbox360 games
I've always thought that as well, but this generation things are a bit different. The PS3's library isn't as diverse as the PS2 yet, and things aren't looking up exactly. Also, PC hardware makers are fumbling and it's unclear which direction game development will go. A PC is a medium-term investment and it's entirely possible with the advent of DirectX11 developers will skip DX10 altogether (it's not even that different from DX9)..Mozgus wrote:THANK you. It's a shame that console devs are shying away from split-screen and "local" multiplayer modes. I reckon in this department the Wii is the best package for the social gamer, but that's not saying much about the merits of the console.

Re: PC games vs xbox360 games
I've always felt that games such as platformers, JRPGs, fighting games, and arcade flight games work better on a controller than a keyboard, so I'll go to a console for those even if they're ported to the PC (Rogue Squadren comes ot mind). Similarly, flight sims, RTS's, FPS's, and all things Mechwarrior belong on the keyboard and mouse. And life would be golden if publishers would just keep the genres to their best platform. Those who like FPS's can get their pimped out rig with the blue LEDs, while the Street Fighter fanatics can pick up a nice arcade stick on their console of choice. Then Bungie made Halo, and ruined it for everyone.
