Are you overly generous?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Nah. It's pretty crappy, but I had friends who would add a few bucks to the tab if they were delivering to blacks. Noted, they kept a list of people who didn't tip, and one of my friends was held up at gun point...but still.
Nemoide wrote:So outside of the realm of tipping, what are people's habits about giving to nonprofit organizations?
I have a year by year budget for charities. I give as much as I can, as most charities are tax deductible. It's win win.

Instead of adding a "ghetto tax," the pizza places my friends worked for in college ended up just blacklisting the poorer neighborhoods due to the lack of tips, the rude customers, and the occasional threats or violence. Sure, the folks that lived there complained, but the managers felt it was better for the benefit of their employees and also so they could focus on the nicer neighborhoods with better customers.

That's how I would handle it unless I was struggling for sales.

I give to my churches and some charities. I do get upset when people do not take no for an answer. For example, I actually had a local volunteer fire department member come talk to my house yesterday. The guy caught me as I was about to enter from my car and started the conversation with "is the man of the house in?" and when I responded "what do you mean" he said very derisively "is your daddy here?" Then proceeded to tell me that he needed to talk with my father about giving money to the fire department. When I told him my father is in South Africa and that this is in fact my house, he did not apologize and just kept talking. When I told him there is a sign on the mailbox that says no soliciting for any reason (God included), well that didnt phase him either. So I eventually said "just give me a flyer and my wife will decide."

I always pictured you in your 30s. Is that not accurate? If so, then...

Fast actually suffers from the same condition as Gary Coleman, minus the popular TV show.

Once while mowing the lawn I had two dudes (I suspect they were Mormons) ask me "Excuse me, is the owner of this house at home today?".

^I've run into that on several occasions

Even at work when I'm the only one there. "Excuse me is the manager here?" .... "Well that would be me"
