Shin Megami Tensei IV
Re: Shin Megami Tensei IV
I put P4 ahead on characters and character interactions because that is so key to the P3/P4 experience. SMTIV on battle system and all things related. Story wise neither are great, IMO.
Re: Shin Megami Tensei IV
I pretty much agree here. The characters are the stand out piece of P4. The story wasn't standout, but at least I understood it. SMT IV's story is kind of a confusing mess and you really only have one relatable character in Isabeau, IMO.ZenErik wrote:I put P4 ahead on characters and character interactions because that is so key to the P3/P4 experience. The story isn't really a mess, it's just not as deliberate and straightforward in what it's trying to tell you. SMTIV has alot more choice in how the game plays out when compared with other jRPGs as well which is nice.Stark wrote:I pretty much agree here. The characters are the stand out piece of P4. Sure, what you said about deliberate and straightforward is a more succinct way of putting what I meant. Clearly you don't work for the writing team of SMT IV.CavZee wrote:The story isn't really a mess, it's just not as deliberate and straightforward in what it's trying to tell you. Well considering I had to look up what the word "succinct" meant, I can't really say I'll ever work for any sort of writing team. XD
What I meant was that there's a good amount to SMTIV's story that is subtle and open to the interpretation of the player. It comes across as a little more thought provoking when compared to Persona.

Seems a little fitting that it was in this thread then. Haha
Doesn't seem like I've been posting here for that long though. O_o
