The arcade version had a sequel that ran on the same engine. It was ported to the N64 as Killer Instinct Gold

Well those games did get fan made sequels

Super mario world return to dinosaur island

Zelda parallel worlds remade

Metroid Zero Mission and Metroid redesign

All these are well made and the closest you will ever get to sequels on the Snes.

I would've loved a SNES Super Ghouls 'n Ghosts sequel that would be pretty much the same game, minus the slow down but with new level designs and bosses

Sabre Run could've been made bigger and better with a sequel

Hagane 2 would've been sweet

I assume you're thinking more along the lines of a mission pack sequel (ie: what Super C was to Contra)? You're gonna have to go to ROM hacks for those.
