sorry I haven't come up w/ game suggestions yet. I'm really struggling here. I'm not sure if I should be suggesting games I already know well or games I've never played but would be interested in playing (IE: which scenario would likely keep me more motivated? Replaying something I'm already very familiar with, or exploring something new?) I also feel like I'm trying to avoid games we already have hi-score threads for just to keep it fresh. I guess I feel like I ultimately will just always gravitate toward the same handful of shmups (Galaga, Chaos Field, Shikigami II, Deathsmiles, MushiFutari, DDP Res, etc)...

I'm in the same boat. Not to mention that most of the games I would've gone with have already been suggested, haha.

This thread on shmups might help with making your picks: CHRONOLOGY OF SHOOTING (ARCADE` present day - 1984)

Are games only allowed one nomination each?

I think some people are also PM'ing their picks to mjmjr. That's what I did.

Might not be a bad idea to put a deadline for picks (end of the month maybe?) and then list them all. That way we can go through them and make sure we don't leave anyone out because of hardware limitations or lack of a good rom.

Here's what I'll go with for nominations:

'90-'95 - Aero Fighters 2 (1994)
'96-'00 - Mars Matrix (2000)
'01-'05 - Gradius V (2004)
'06-'10 - Trigger Heart Exelica (2006)

The older two should be easy to emulate, gradius v is an easy find for US PS2, and T.H.E. should be relatively accessible as well. Lots of good nominations already, looking forward to whatever we pick.

Need FreeMCboot? I'll install it on your PS2 Memory Card for free if you cover postage both ways.
Consoles: I have too much stuff
Arcade: No seriously, I have too much stuff. Someone grab a shovel and dig me out of my basement.

...multiple nominations are fine, sorta like putting more balls in the lottery.

I have a list at home - let's give it another week for everyone to submit nominations - then i'll post a public list of everything that's been submitted. Send via pm or post in thread, either is fine...
