I have a 1080i HDTV, a dreamcast and a VGA box which i acquired from buying a collection (i cherry pick and re-sell),
I dont have a VGA cable, should i go ahead and get one? would it be better to play dreamcast using this process over s-cable or basic AV?
Yes i do have VGA connection on my TV.
Edit: Where can i buy one cheap? anyone have a extra one for cheap?
Advice needed! Should I buy VGA cable for my 37" HDTV?

I have my Dreamcast hooked up to my 37" HDTV, and it looks extremely crisp. To do the VGA hookup, you need two things.
1. VGA cable. Aka the blue monitor connector for your computer. You should be able to get one cheap from any computer or office supply store.
2. 3.5 mm audio cable. The same kind of plug that headphones use. You can get these from Radioshack and Best Buy, among other places.

It will look better than any other type of connection on the DC. You'll probably notice this most on an HDTV.

A million times yes use vga. If your vga box has the red and white outputs and your running to an amp then sure use em. If your only going to the tv for sound then just use the 3.5mm audio jack.claudio wrote: what about the AV audio out on my VGA box? cant i use AV (red/white) stereo for that? i have VGA on my TV, if u think it looks sharp i would go for it then.

So it depends on your TV. For example, I don't have a stereo amp; I use the TV speakers. The sound for the VGA channel comes through the 3.5 mm port that I mentioned earlier. If you're using a stereo amp, then you should be good to go with the A/V cables for audio.

Whichever is easiest for what your conecting to. They both give the same audio.MrPopo wrote:So it depends on your TV. For example, I don't have a stereo amp; I use the TV speakers.
