Yeah I have all 3. I'm a little fuzzy on Lady Vengeance at the moment, but just rewatched Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance the other week. It too has a theme of spiraling out of control and becoming worse. I like Oldboy the best and I can see why that was the first one that was released here.
Thanks. I know that Lady Vengeance is also available for streaming on Netflix and Hulu; so, I will definitely watch that one. I am not sure about Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance, but I may have to track it down.

I don't think "utopia" means what you think it means...
Let me guess; you still hold affection for your fleshbag.

Now you see me

Seriously garbage. Terrible movie. It tried to be so much more than it was and in the end it was just a complete mess.

DC Universe: Flashpoint

It was good, but the comic was better. You actually got to explore more of this new parallel-universe in the comic.

The Diner and Bike riding scenes in THE KARATE KID are under rated.

Big time.

Riddick... not bad. But man they played it so safe. It's basically a combination of the first two movies into one. But one planet... one simple premise and nothing that really pushes the series forward, a bit disappointing since I think the games were pretty damn good (handled Riddick's character insanely well too), and there's just so much potential for some rich sci-fi here. But yeah. Kudos to Vin I guess for loving the character and pouring his money into this stuff.

Lady Vengeance is the odd ball of the trilogy, as it is less about things spiraling out of control and takes a much more positive view on revenge, though the main character has to give herself over to it entirely only to discover it's not really her place to do so. It's also my favorite of the three.

Well I haven't been to see it yet, but Riddick was successful this weekend getting about half of the busget back in the opening weekend. Should set things up for more and shows how these cheaper movies can be successful.

I haven't seen Pitch Black but I've seen a plot synopsis, so I'll agree, that's essentially what this is. I think the first chunk of the movie is something they were going to have to do no matter what the story of the sequel was, but I'm not sure it couldn't have been tacked on to the start of a movie that set up more of the ongoing universe. This movie feels more like a personal side story that doesn't move anything forward, just reminds everyone that Riddick is extremely resourceful.

So I'm guessing the beginning deals with him as King or whatever, and sets up some plot device that gets him to a planet to reenact Pitch Black?
