I really hate south park. It gets on my nerves. Fg is more slapstick and Futurama is more satire.
I don't really follow South Park much anymore. I was a huge fan once, but sort of got tired of it. A lot of those episodes don't hold up because they are too topical, and sometimes the show just comes across as too mean spirited, which I think it sometimes a problem with Family Guy too. When Furturama makes fun of stuff it is usually in a fun sort of way. It never feels like the show is out to tear someone a new one the way South Park often does.

Plus, Futurama has boundaries. South Park has gone beyond offensive with some of their episodes, and Family Guy too at times.

Overall, I think Futurama is the classiest (relatively speaking of course) of the three shows. It's going to be the most timeless as the years go on and it's the most consistent. I will miss this show. It's far better even than its parent show The Simpsons ever was

Futurama certainly will be the most timeless of the three. South Park and Family Guy relay on pop culture references far too much to be anywhere near as funny to people 20 years from now as they are now. Heck, there are a lot of South Park episodes already that feel very dated now. Futurama uses them as well, but they're not the backbone of the humor. I think that's why Scooby Doo and Spongebob have stayed so popular for so long with multiple generations of kids: the humor comes from the characters and contrived situations, not from the newspapers.

Yup, FG, South Park, and The Simpsons have become cash cows.

So I think that was the last episode of Futurama. Maybe it wasn't as epic of an ending as Into the Wild Green Yonder (that was a possible series finale) but it was a very nice way to end the series (if this is indeed the end).

I havent seen it yet, but from the cast that I talk to fairly frequently they have said that it is done for a long time (atleast with the current voice actors - so dead to me). That they have told the stories that they all wanted and that the series is going to finally end when THEY want it to, not the channel.

The last season was kind of a mix for me. Up to episode 13 it was hilarious. Then it went VERY downhill, with that saturday morning cartoons episode being probably one of the worst I've ever seen. But then starting with the episode about Bender's ass it became great again. And the previous to last episode was one of the funniest episodes I've seen. And I was happy about Zoidberg :).

I will miss the series, but I'm glad it had an ending which ties all loose ends. I don't think we need another great series turn mediocre. I'm glad they had the opportunity to come back on the air (just the "shut up and take my money" episode and the meme that came out of it were worth it imo :P), and that they seemed to have greater creative freedom this time around

(spoiler about the last to previous episode)
When Bender danced on the corpse of the little girl I couldn't stop laughing and I couldn't believe they DID that. that they were actually allowed to do that. But they brought her back to life that way, so I guess no one will think twice about it, but still I'm glad they had the freedom to do something so crazy
Great show, it had a great run, SOOOO many memorable episodes, so many lovable characters, so many jokes, quotes, and let's not forget the tear jerkers.

Yes I will miss the series. But I will buy it on blue-ray so I can put it on every once in a while. And I know that 1.5 decades from now I will be watching it with my kids.

I do hope they can release all the eps in some kind of object related to the show; they did the Bender head for DVD of all original TV releases for Comic-Con.

I like all the "raunchy" cartoons. Simpsons started it all, or course. (innocent compared to most of the stuff today, though). And I grew up loving them. I also like Beavis & Butt-Head, South Park, Family Guy, Futurama, Venture Bros., Sealab 2021, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, The Critic, and a few others I'm sure I forgot.

To expect "boundaries" on these kind of cartoons, is kind of silly. That's like the entire point of them, to push the envelope and get a reaction out of people; whether that reaction be laughter or being offended. Any publicity is good publicity, especially in this case.
