Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
Just stumbled upon a private server of the long dead Matrix Online. You can't do anything but emote and explore since they are working on bringing the game back and there are tons of issues involved, but man did this game bring back some memories.
First things, first, every building is explorable. They may seem pretty devoid of life, but you find some weird things in places sometimes. I remember spending a lot of time playing this game. There was a lot of hands-on GM driven events that were a blast to play through, not to mention in-character roleplaying interactions with the GMs. I remember having clandestine meetings, spying on other factions and other crazy things that made the game fun.
The big issue with the game though was keeping up with content. The city was huge and it was hard to find players at times. Also the game was incredibly easy. I remember hitting max level in just a few weeks of non-dedicated time. I thought it was a really cool idea, but there were huge flaws on the gameplay side of things. It is nice though to still see that you can explore the world.

EDIT: Nevermind. Didn't see "fastbilly's mother", just saw PGM

Interesting in the fact that when that game came out, not many female characters broke the fourth wall and complained about the dress they were inKDub wrote:This joke alone is almost enough to make me buy it

I don't know what to think about resident evil 6... i liked Leons campaign, it was a bit weak in the end but it got hes cool moments, Chris is just a shooter... and a bad one for that since you face enemies that shoot you REALLY feel how the mechanics of the game don't work that well, and now Jake's... it was disapointing... his melee attack is really awkward and useless, the character itself is boring and his ending is bad ( for the record all 3 were bad so far). Now im taking a rest from Ada. I liked a lot of things they made with the game now you can move and shoot, you have a dodge button that is really usefull, now you have a quick melee attack... but i don't like how they limit the weapons to your character, or how they got rid of the upgrade system, or how there is less variety of weapons... like i said i dont know what to think.

What do you guys think of Okamiden?
Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
Keep in mind, it is a challenging game.BoneSnapDeez wrote:Thank you. Added to Want List.ExedExes wrote: Be careful, he might discover Cacoma Knight In Bizyland too!
Now I am worried that Bone will try to finish the Polystar US SNES trifecta by seeking out Musya.

Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
I completed it earlier this year. It is probably the best "zelda" game on the DS, and the boss battles are a lot of fun. It - obviously - is not a pretty as its predecessor, but the graphics and sound are impressive for the hardware. (I kind of wish Capcom had held off and made it a 3DS game...that would have looked amazing.) It suffers by comparison to Okami. Okami, however, is one of the best games of all time; so, it is probably not fair to compare the two. Finally, it starts out a bit slow - just like Okami - but it gets a lot better once you get into it.Violent By Design wrote:What do you guys think of Okamiden?

I'm having a hell of time playing GameCube backups on my modded Wii. I think it's the media I'm using. I've tried two, one being a printable disc and the other being some shitty off-brand disc. The only hole in this theory, I actually got one of the damn things to work.

Is there a platformer where falling into lava doesn't mean certain death?

I cant think of any names, but I've played numerous platformers where you take regular damage (as opposed to 1 hit kill damage) from lava and get the usual damage immunity that you get after being hit. The fire stage in Mega Man X?
