Fair enough, Ds. Thoughts on RoboCop?

Personally, I don't think it looks like it will inevitably bad, just different. If the film focuses on the human reactions to integration of man and machine, then it could be a very interesting film. But I'm hesitant to call it RoboCop.

Android Policeman, perhaps?

Constable Cyborg?

Officer Automaton?

EDIT: I am very hopeful that The Asylum will latch on to one of these for its inevitable "mockbuster" knock off.

I'm leaning towards Bionic Fuzz currently, though Constable Cyborg does sound cool.

Constable Cyborg could be a Simon Pegg production.

He could also go with The Bionic Bobby, but that might confuse American audiences...

They already had a cop movie with Hot Fuzz. They're not likely to repeat a theme. Zombies, cops, and now [spoilers], I think we're going to be set with just one trilogy. Anything more would be pulling a Lucas.

Having just watched the original Robocop I can say that the remakes trailer doesn't fill me with much confidence. It's like Total Recall or Predator, the original films might not be Truffaut or whatever, but they have more to them than a run of the mill action title.
Secondly, I don't think the writers know the character. It's about Robocop finding his humanity, not his free will. This is a dude who knows he's a dude in a robot suit. That's dumb. There's no conflict of "Murphy...It's you".
This pretty much the thrust of it. Just from the trailer it seems as if a lot of the subtext from the original has now become text. And what with Detroit's bankruptcy, the original is probably more relevant than the remake will be.

JUSTICE LEAGUE: THE FLASHPOINT PARADOX

Never read the graphic novel, but I loved this. The animation was kinda iffy in a few spots and for some reason, the alt-timeline version of Aquaman seemed to have a neck that was thicker than his whole head.

SATURDAY MORNING MYSTERY

Another so-so str8-to-DVD horror movie found in the RedBox machine. Starts off as basically a Scooby-Doo-based horror romp but slowly it sheds its Saturday-morning-sleuth formula and dives headfirst into the shallow end of str8-to-DVD blandness. But I've seen worse, though not many that are worse than this.

I don't like the new look of the RoboCop armor. But eveything else looks great, to me.

Yeah, it's obviously not the same story as the original. But I'm okay with that. If it was the exact same movie, then people would complain about that. The story seemed cool enough to me, from what I saw in the previews. And it has Michael Keaton!

However, that brings me to a point someone else brought up: They revealed a lot about the story in the preview. Which does have me a little worried.

But that's the thing. Why is it Robocop if they changed so much?
