Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
^You know, the GB Boy is kinda cool. My only gripe is the D-Pad quality is a notch below a real Game Boy. I played Super Mario Land and the pad really isn't responsive enough for a good playthrough. I died a couple times and lost my power-ups; this wouldn't have happened on a real system (I'm kind of a self-proclaimed pro at SML).
But for RPG's and action games that don't require total precision, the GB Boy is an acceptable Game Boy alternative... so long as you get a unit without any issues. Some members have reported sound problems and dead pixels. Thankfully my unit doesn't have any problems as far as I can tell.
For the 20 bucks, I feel satisfied with the purchase. It's certainly cheaper than getting one of those official Japanese GB's with the back-lit screen (what did they call those? Game Boy Light or something along those lines?).

Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
we don't have a Fez thread? Weird.
It's 50% on Steam this week, so I'm finally playing. I really loved Indie Game The Movie, so it's great to finally get to play this one. I have to say, this is genuinely a game that's just making me smile. Like the first time I played Little Big Planet, this is just so charming. I mean, when you first go in 3D and the game resets? Awesome. Or the first moment when turning the world was advantageous. Just so awesome.
Also, I remember playing Where Is My Heart? on PSN a couple years ago. Pretty much a Fez rip-off, yeah?
Also also, my wife came in the room...
Me: hey look what I got!
Her: Fez?
Me: Yeah, it's... really good.
Her: ...that guy is mean.

Reading through these old Nintendo Power issues is fun.
They teased us with so many games that were never released in the US like Final Fantasy V, Dragon Warrior V, Mother, Romancing Saga...
I also just read a great blurb about the upcoming "Seventh Saga."

Whoa....
Kendo Rage, an action platformer with decent looking anime cutscenes on SNES?
Usually this kind of thing ended up on Genesis or TG16 - or was heavily edited for the SNES release... Why had I not heard of this?!

Haha, Kendo Rage. I've played that game quite a bit but never did get around to beating it. There are a few of those anime-esque games hidden on the SNES (though the box art kept them pretty well hidden).

Because nobody ever thinks of Datam Polystar when they think of SNES companies from the pastBoneSnapDeez wrote:Whoa....

The Japan only sequel is a fighting game.

Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
Speaking of fastbilly's mother, were there any good games made for the PGM besides Cave shmups?

This joke alone is almost enough to make me buy it
