It was. At the time, Bioware had done KoTOR for XBox, and ported to PC, Jade Empire for XBox, and ported to PC, Mass Effect for 360, and ported to PC. DAO was to be their return to their PC roots game, but was delayed and turned into a multi-platform game.

AFAIK, the PS3 version was the worse of the two to boot, with the performance issues noted when the game was released.

Regardless, personally, I thought it was a great game overall. Obviously, different strokes, but it was at least fairly ambitious.

My PC can't handle Dragon Age, so it's the console version or nothing.

I've often felt this way with some PC RPGs. It makes sense that I would start as a nobody and rise to greatness, but the beginning is always boring with nothing to do and lots of stupid dialogue to read. I can usually get past it and enjoy the meat of the game. Maybe I'll give Dragon Age another chance and at least get past the opening.

It seems like it could be a really cool game. I don't mind the 3rd person perspective at all. If only it worked properly.

One thing to keep in mind with DAO is that the "Origins" part stems from the prologue sections, which vary a lot depending on the race/class you pick. It's possible that you might find a different one more interesting.

Unfortunately, with regard to the combat, you're kinda stuck.

over the weekend I started playing Final Fantasy VII. Go ahead and spoil it, Popo!

I'm not new to this one. I love/hate Final Fantasy VII. In the past, going as far as calling it my least favorite FF (long before I had played II). Other times I'd praise much of what it accomplished in its day. But usually I'd just settle on "overrated," in that I do like the game but think that it gets a better rep than it deserves.

This time, I'd like to actually beat it instead of getting bored in Shinra Tower. That always seems to be the spot where I roll my eyes and look for something else to play.

I'm playing the PC version. I kind of hate to admit that the inclusion of Achievements had anything to do with my decision to purchase yet another copy of this game, this time thru Steam.

Anyway, we blew up the reactor and made it back to our hide-out. Now we're heading off on our next mission.

I'm on disc 2 of Lunar: Silverstar Story Complete.

I think I'm on the last dungeon, I went to the floating castle in the air after Ghaeleon beat my ass in the prior dungeon.

The dungeon had a lot of gear in it, so I back tracked to see if I missed anything and I accidentally left the dungeon. When I came back in all the enemies had spawned, so it kinda stalled me from beating the game last night. Had to use a lot of mana items too since these guys are not easy to kill.
Well, I am quite deep in the dungeon now. I got my ass beat by Xenobia which made me turn the game off, since I would have to go through a huge cut scene before challenging her again.

Just fought her again and beat her ass this time. She didn't spam her move that turns half my team into stone this go around.

FF7...

Tifa was trying to get all 50 Shades of Grey but Cloud BRA had to come along and mess it up so she had to pretend that this was just some undercover operation she was working on.

I think I forgot just how suggestive this part was. Or even how overt it was. I mean, "I'll cut it off..." is pretty blunt.

Cruising along. Having fun. Feels slightly weird. Like, did you ever have a classic book or movie that maybe you attempted to read/watch twice in the past only to eventually bail? So it feels like you KNOW the story... except you never read/saw the end?
