No...your limiting yourself then. More so now that people are struggling to get by...they might treat themselves to a game a few times if they have some spare cash but I doubt they would go out of the way to buy a "rare game". The only people interested in rare games would be collectors. So then you look at the area your in...how many people collect video games? If your in Seattle...maybe it's a good idea...if your in...dumb fuck nowhere...not a good idea because you'll have less people and even less that are video game collectors.
I meant Ebay store. LA has a collecting and gaming base.

You are still limiting yourself. You would be much better by selling things in good condition and things you can make a profit on.

can anyone suggest a non-retro gaming forum that has a member base with a knowledge of and appreciation for older games, but which tends to have interesting, insightful, and respectful discussions of newer stuff, changes in the industry and culture, etc.?

I thought they were

a) retro focused
b) sparsely populated

I lurk a lot - post occasionally... Lots of good discussion about all gens. I wouldn't call it sparsely populated, though it has maybe 1/2 - 3/4 the traffic of RacketBoy.

From what I gather, a lot of you folks played PC DOS and Commodore 64 games when you were young.

My family had a Mac LC.

I grew up playing games that looked like this:

There doesn't seem to be a great deal of talk about retro Mac games, though Macintosh Garden has some great preservation/emulation stuff. I wonder how easy it would be to run some of this old stuff on a modern Mac computer...
