xbox 360 slim thermal paste metal plate covers cpu ,gpu help

is time to change the thermal paste on my xbox 360 slim
I have done the change of thermal paste other times I have a doubt on console Xbox slim heatsink underneath is metal plate to cover the gpu and cpu but this metal plate glued ta with some kind of glue or adhesive, and would be safe to remove? under the metal plate that the original old thermal paste need to be change most people only change thermal paste on top of metal plate

The slims aren't that old. Unless you're using your system in a metal shed 12 hours a day it shouldn't need any attention.
