Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
Why is it so damn hard collecting for the Dreamcast in the Seattle area? All I find are sports games...

I've always heard Seattle is a classic gaming haven. At least that's how MetalJesus makes it seem in some of his "Added to the Collection" videos and retro-store reviews.GirlGamer55 wrote:Why is it so damn hard collecting for the Dreamcast in the Seattle area? All I find are sports games...
Here in California, Dreamcast is pretty plentiful. Not as plentiful as NES, Atari 2600, or PS1, granted; but also not nearly as bone-dry as Saturn and TurboGrafx-16 is.

Texas, mainly Dallas and Houston, has a fairly solid retro presence as well. The selection and saturation of retro games to find out here seems strong and we have been getting more retro stores opening.

I mean theres one pawn shop that is a "sweet spot" to hitBurningDoom wrote:I've always heard Seattle is a classic gaming haven. Seattle should be a great place to get retro games and we do have dedicated stores but they are all over priced or ebay priced. Seattle just is a bad place if you want to get a deal.

Re: Random Gaming Thoughts
That is what it is like in Michigan. You might get lucky and find a couple Dreamcast games at a garage sale or flea market, but good luck. The retro stores I've frequented have roughly around 5-10 titles and usually sports stuff.GirlGamer55 wrote:Why is it so damn hard collecting for the Dreamcast in the Seattle area? Probably shopping in the wrong store. There are several local spots that have more than just DC games.GirlGamer55 wrote:Why is it so damn hard collecting for the Dreamcast in the Seattle area? All I find are sports games...

Do you guys think it would be a good idea to pen a niche rare game store? Only sell rare games.

Oh I never go to a focused store. All the ones I have been to jack up the price way to much. I meant why is it hard to find in thrift stores/pawn shops/yard sales. It's like no one has or had a dreamcast...Stark wrote:Probably shopping in the wrong store. No...your limiting yourself then. More so now that people are struggling to get by...they might treat themselves to a game a few times if they have some spare cash but I doubt they would go out of the way to buy a "rare game". The only people interested in rare games would be collectors. So then you look at the area your in...how many people collect video games? If your in Seattle...maybe it's a good idea...if your in...dumb fuck nowhere...not a good idea because you'll have less people and even less that are video game collectors.oxymoron wrote:Do you guys think it would be a good idea to pen a niche rare game store?
