Still on the bottom, but over 2M now. Not sure what I'm not getting in this game. It just doesn't click at all. Is there ANY scoring mechanism? Maybe I'm missing it...

You can increase the number of red/blue LEDs, but I'm not 100% sure how. I think I tend to get them more when the ships crash on land.

You seem to be on the right track. It does feel a bit bland, but I like stage 3 a lot more than stages 1 and 2.

I saw the thread, just a bunch of people fooling around at this point until we get an official response.

Sending in my Homura writeup in just a few minutes (what little I found about the game), so I'm assuming that's a go for September.

Not really. Basically just grab all the markers dropped by the enemies, and hoard bombs for a stage end multiplier. Plus, any power-ups grabbed once fully powered are 5,000 pts.

Rank is huge in this game - if you never go above 3 bombs and if you never max out a weapon or speed, then rank won't set in or increase. Pick the weapon you like and avoid all forms of powerup. This makes stages quite easy, especially the first 5 - drastically so. Your score will be quite low through 3 stages...but, the boss kill bonuses are worth so much, you can get a nice score. While scoring isn't complex, your best bet for survival is to avoid powerups entirely and if you are dying out before stage 5, this is also a way to actually improve your score.

I thought MY high score was 4.5 so was trying to beat that. Got 4.49 and was disgusted w/ myself. Shut the Saturn off. Nope. MIKE HAD 4.5. So had I recorded this score, I would've bumped Exed. Sonofabitch. I'm gonna kick a chair guys.

I was so disgusted with my last run that I shut my Saturn off and only a second later realized that I've been needing to change the battery in it...

I furiously admit defeat. I've done about a dozen runs tonight. I can't believe I didn't record those two early 4.9 scores. Fuck off. Every run after that I played "better" in that I was weaving through bullets so gracefully I was amazed with myself. But horrible scores. Good month. I'm sure I enjoyed this more than most of you. I love this game. And yet I can't argue any the complaints, except D's complaint about music. I think the music in this game is great. Stage 1 is awesome. Boss 2 is incredible music.

Let's hold off on Homura in case there is an STGT? We can just pick a game at random for September and if STGT starts up, just play it in the background or whatever.

Thoughts? At some point we'll need a new title either way - may as well do it now?
