This lawyer stuff could be moved to PMs or a separate thread. I think we've had this off track enough the past few days.

Always thought the cover art on Sega Bass Fishing looked more like a frog than a Largemouth Bass. Today, I finally "realized" it wasn't a frog, but a fish.

So, Microsoft is releasing a new Zoo Tycoon for the Xbone. There's alpha footage on the net. Looks like it might turn out to be neat. Please let there be dinosaurs or a dinosaur expansion DLC.

Edit: Gameplay

I've been playing Zillion II for decades and still have no clue what the power-ups do.

*concerning textbooks, I've kept a few (when the roi was terrible and I enjoyed the book) but Book Buy Back days meant money for X-Mas gifts or funds for Spring Break.

You guys weren't kidding about Sly Cooper. Definitely seems like more my thing after the first Ratchet & Clank. Kind of reminds me of Banjo the most, but a bit more open and linear (not in a bad way). Seems awesome so far.

Admittedly I'm already craving a little more R&C though, so despite my issues with the first game it left an overall good impression. Looking forward to the sequels.

Still not sure what to think of Jak, huh. The GTA thing in 2-3, and I hear none of the games have strafing, could be annoying if there's a lot of action/shooting going on.

The first game's issues are definitely alleviated in the sequel. Ratchet & Clank: Going Commando is where the series hit its stride.

Eh, the gunplay can be kind of a pain in the ass. I remember mostly killing enemies with the fist attacks in Jak 2&3.

Gaming thought? Maybe.

I for some reason hate the term "Minty" far more than I should. Like, I know this is just an evolution of language (or at the very least, online slang) and I should just accept it, but it drives me nuts. I understand something being "Mint" as in "Newly minted" meaning brand new, but "Minty" just sticks with me somehow.

But then, I've caught myself using "lawl" or "lololol" or something like that in place of the original term "lol" so I imagine eventually it'll just seem normal to me. Right now I'm just shaking my cane and telling people to get off my lawn.
Gunning for a licensed NES NTSC-U set, follow the madness and poverty here!
Cheat sheet of my collection, always looking to increase it. 405/677 licensed games, 46/"95" unlicensed
Chronically out of date BST thread

My experience with the Sly games on PS2 is limited to playing about 25-30% of the third game, so keep that in mind
Jak and Daxter>Ratchet and Clank 3/R&C2>Jak 3/R&C1>Sly 3>Jak 2

Though the series are different so you can't directly compare 'em with each other. Ratchet and Clank is about gunplay and leveling up the guns, Jak 2&3 are GTA-esque action adventure with an hub world you can freely explore and very linear missions that can be a pain in the ass due to lack of checkpoints (that are divided quite evenly between shooting things (on foot and via turrets), 3D platforming and racing) and Sly is a mix of stealth and 3D platforming. The first Jak game is the most pure platformer out of all the games mentoned here, that takes place in a huge open world collectathon.

I'm a Jak and Daxter fan and Jak 2 is the most annoying 3D platformer I've played besides Super Magnetic Neo. Some missions have fucked up checkpoints so you keep dying over and over again and it's very frustrating because the game is mission based rather than open world, so once you're locked in some race mission, all you can do is fail and fail again until you finally succeed, where as there are no missions in Jak 1, only objectives (collect 5 X, collect 10 Y, break 5 X....), so you won't get stuck.
You mentioned the whole GTA thing, and it's sad that Jak 2&3 tried way too hard to have a lot of "attitude", so the games have a lot of substandard shooting, fighting, car jacking etc, when the first game was a colorful and happy platformer with out any guns, and only few short vehicle sections.

Can you beat Sim City?

Metropolis?

Save the town from a Monster or Natural threat? Maximize population?
