Hyperstone Heist completed.

Boss rush? In my TMNT? You're doing it wrong. I could understand a whole lot of frustration in that if you didn't have a lot of lives. At least the final battle was exactly like the last one in TiT.

This month was a good look back at the games, and it was real nice to have the chance to play the arcade cab.

Played through the SNES TiT version with the wife. Made it to the pirate ship level when the continues ran out. She played as Donatello and I was Leonardo, even though I wanted to be Donatello. And of course, I let her have all the pizzas!

TO be honest, I do want to enjoy these types of beat 'em ups but always get a bit bored of the gameplay a couple of levels in. That said, the artwork and the music's awesome, and there is a fair variety of moves so I enjoyed it more than some other games in the genre, but am not in any rush to jump back in and try to complete the game, though maybe one day.

Might fire up the MAME version tomorrow just for a quick comparison.

Played through Turtles in Time and spent $5.25 most of which was spent on Leatherhead. I could not figure out the pattern on for the life of me, spent about $3 on him alone. The other big frustrating part was the rock soldiers with the machine guns. They could knock you far away into a crowd of foot and then shoot you. Add to it some of the obstacles like the boards in the Pirate Ship Level and you could get hit about 4 times in a row without being able to answer. That was definitely frustrating.

Overall, though, I find Turtles in Time to be one of the more accomplishable Beat em Ups. There are real patterns with the bosses (aside from Leatherhead, that bastard). Bosses like Krang and Baxter are really easy to figure out and exploit, taking no credits at all.

I really enjoy the game though. There are a lot of cool obstacles that you try to avoid and there is a huge variety of enemies that all have some cool things. It is really in the details. Annoyed by those boomerang foot, cut their weapons up!

Was able to squeeze this one in just in time before the month ended and had a blast as Raphael.

Surprised not many people have asked the question. Who is your favorite turtle!?

Avoid the sewer bombs by jumping.

Go to the top of the screen, wait, jump kick in the middle when ready.

Go to the bottom of the screen, and repeat. After a few attempts you'll think Leatherhead is a cupcake.
