How do 99 cent stores sell items for so cheap?

Actually I heard a huge story about how 99 cent stores are having a hard time turning a profit because of shipping and fuel prices. They don't want to change the names to "Everythings $1.45" or something so they are waiting for the "recession" to end and just try to get by until them. Also....most the stuff they have is near expiration, knock offs or factory rejects. And yes it's a conspiracy too....i think the russians are involved.

Is there really such thing as a $0.99 cent store?

It was raining in china town a couple of months ago, picked up 3 umbrellas at it came out to $6 plus tax.

I see those stores selling crap for up to $20,

also they sell shit like envelopes 6x9 at 4 for a buck which is a jip

Its all bulk shit from China, its really cheap to produce shit there, trust me it takes about $8 to make a pair of nikes and you can get shit like 8GB memory stick duos there for about $24, sony bootlegs but work just as well.

most people at buck stores who only buy 99 cent shit usually spend about 10 bucks at a time on average i bet, and many times i see immigrants working at these places, we all know how they get jiped too.
