I'm getting a Nintendo DS. What games should I get?

So I am 27 living in CA and my little sister is 13 living back home in MI. I just discovered that she has had a DS sitting in her closet for 3 years not getting used and she said I can have it. Long story short my mom is mailing me her DS with a few games such as Mario party, some Pokemon game and some other randoms. I really want to get all of the Castlevania games for the DS. Any other good games similar to that or shooters? Or any good games in general I should know about? I'm stuck in the game boy era and don't know much about these newer games. All I know is that the Castlevania's look sick

I WILL SHARE MY DS KNOWLEDGE:
The Castlevania games are definitely awesome and I recommend all of them.
If you have any interest in "visual novel" style games I recommend 9 Hours, 9 Persons, 9 Doors and Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney. (They are very different games pretty much only sharing a text-heavy nature.)

The DS has a lot of great RPGs. My favorites are the Dragon Quest games!

And if you've ever been curious about synthesizers, Korg DS-10 is some great music-making software.

I have one of them R4 things. I found a broken DS before and this was inside it with some pokemon game and other games on it. Just don't have a non broken DS to use yet. Waiting for my moms package in the mail

Probably my favorite game out of the few I own for the DS is Final Fantasy III. The graphics are great and the combat system + story is very solid.

For whatever reason I also liked the Lost in Blue series. However those games are highly repetitive and can be an item management nightmare if your not into survival games.

Do you like RPGs? The DS is an RPG powerhouse. Check out all four Dragon Quest games as well as the Chrono Trigger port.
