As I was leaving the local thrift store, this was put put on display. The gun and glasses are still in their original packaging and two of the SMS games are SEALED! Not bad for $60 eh?

As someone that was recently outbid on those glasses by a dollar, that is sickening. Congrats though! That is an awesome find.

Agreed. I've never seen a Master System in the wild (I've never seen a Master System in person) let alone a boxed Master System with boxed games!

I will admit that the area of console collecting I would love to focus on is SEGA. I just need to finish up the Genesis (32X and SEGA CD), pick up a Saturn and a Master System, and find an SG-1000

Unless you live in Japan or New Zealand, I would rule out finding one in the wild.

Yeah, sadly, I know. It'll be on my list for when I make more money then I know what to do with.

You never know, however.

The saddest day of my life was when my dad would not let my aunt give me a master system with every US release. She worked for Tonka Toys for many years, and that was Segas main US distriubutor for the master system. She had 2 boxed consoles, and 2 copies of virutally every US release. At least I got to play them every year around Christmas and the 4th of july (they live in another state). Some of my fondest memories are staying up until 4am in my aunts basement playing Sega.

They went in a garage sale not long after my parents would not let her give them to me. At the time my parents "didn't want any video games in the house," despite the fact my dad was a computer programmer and we always had DoS games.

On a funnier note, my dad's other sister got payback... when the N64 came out, we were visiting her family for Christmas. She stuffed my cousins (her kids) old genesis in my luggage before we left. When I got that sucker home, my parents knew they'd have to pry it from my cold dead hands. That was my first console and I've been console gaming ever since.

Back kinda on topic, I sent out an e-mail at work seeing if anyone wanted the monitor I pulled from my neo geo cab (working, but I put a PVM in there so I don't need it). A new guy at the office is trading me 3 MVS carts for it. Nothing valuble, but the monitor was nothing to brag about either. I'm getting Magician Lord, Burning Fight, and Sengoku in trade.

Need FreeMCboot? I'll install it on your PS2 Memory Card for free if you cover postage both ways.
Consoles: I have too much stuff
Arcade: No seriously, I have too much stuff. Someone grab a shovel and dig me out of my basement.

If anyone is curious, the sealed games are Bomber Raid and Golvellius.

edit: Just opened a few of the games (not the sealed ones!) and they are minty fresh. Not a scratch on the carts/labels, even the included posters and manuals look like they weren't touched. Wow.
