Hey everyone,
So I went looking around about gamestop rants and I found a video that I think should sum up on what the hell gamestop is doing on xenoblade and Metroid. here is the link:
If someone can link this post to maybe the wii thread or the gamestop thread, good/bad/and ugly then fine. I really thinks gamestop really is sucking collectors to think that they found something they have been looking for or a gamer that has been wanting to play this for a couple years now. That just pissed me off. I am pulling my reserves on my kids games today and just buying them online.
Alpha omega has really something here and you should check out his Saturn and dreamcast collection
Truth about xenoblade and metroid prime trilogy
Re: Truth about xenoblade and metroid prime trilogy
came expecting truth
got mindless conjecture
This guy has NO evidence that Game Quest Direct had anything to do with these reprints. Zilch. He has NO evidence these were newly produced and not, actually, used and/or hoarded/refurbed copies. Gamestop claims they were used copies, and the burden of proof is on anyone suggesting otherwise. He fails to meet this requirement.
As an aside - Gamestop CAN increase the price of an MSRP on a new game. He's flat wrong in suggesting otherwise.
Also, I want to punch this guy (and I'm a peaceful person).

I don't know? he sounds like he knows what he's talking about. And I don't think gamestop can increase the price on new games either. Isn't there a law stating that they can't do that? Isn't it up to the company who makes the game tell retail stores what the new price is going to be. I just don't see a company like Capcom puts out a new game like a new street fighter and says it's going to be 29.99 and have gamestop say nah were going to sell it for 49.99. I just don't see that
Re: Truth about xenoblade and metroid prime trilogy
This is capitalist America, not communist Russia! You can charge any price you want for anything - Capcom can't stop them, Gamestop already paid for the game. There's this thing called supply and demand, I suggest you read about it. Now if Gamestop colluded with other retailers to fix the price, that's a different story. But that's not happening here. The S in MSRP is "SUGGESTED".mas wrote:I don't know? he sounds like he knows what he's talking about. And I don't think gamestop can increase the price on new games either. GameStop is shitty but so is this YouTube dude. This "angry rant" style of video is played beyond belief and needs to be retired immediately.

But if someone is that passionate it surely must be truthful right?

Re: Truth about xenoblade and metroid prime trilogy
It seems pretty obvious that the currently available copies of Xenoblade are reprints, and not old stock sitting around. Based on what I have seen, and several people have confirmed, the game case mould is different ("Nintendo" vs. "Wii" moulded into the plastic). I suppose they could have had just discs laying around and just recently manufactured some new plastic cases, but that seems unlikely.
Re: Truth about xenoblade and metroid prime trilogy
It just sounds like something gamestop would do. Can anyone tell me what they think how they got all these copies of these games? I just want to know. Because for the longest time you couldn't get these games and now all of the sudden there in every gamestop in my area. Plus the Metroid games now come with a regular wii case and not a metal case. Another thing is why is it that I just talked to a good friend of mine who works at gamestop and told me last week Him and his boss got brand new copies of Metroid and xenoblade and they removed the sealed wrapping and placed used labels on them. I'm not defending this guy on youtube but after I read the first comment I called him to go to the gym and I asked him on this and he just told me about this. To me that's a little shady

God that video was annoying
