If there is someone behind you, and no one to the right of you, you are in the wrong lane. I don't care how fast you think you're going, I don't care if you're well over the speed limit. If there is someone behind you and no one to the right of you, get to the right. Left lane is for passing, you are not supposed to be in the left lane unless you're actively engaged in passing.
A bit off-topic, but I have to agree. Out of everywhere I've been, Louisiana has been the worst. People going 50mph or pulling a boat in the left lane drives me nuts. Use the left lane to pass a slower vehicle and then get your ass back over. The left lane should be used as a "passing lane" and not a "fast lane".
Kit used to be terrible at this and I had to always tell her to get back over after she passed someone.

Florida drivers are the worst. The drivers in my town stink something horrible as well. Barely anyone puts on their headlights when it rains, and red lights and stop signs are treated as suggestions.
I have a friend and colleague named Chow Yan-Kawn. Guy cracks me up as whenever he drives he'll say, "I like to reinforce the stereotype that Asians can't drive", and he does to a T.

I stand corrected. I've never been to Florida, but I've heard some stories. If they drive like they do when visiting Louisiana then I can agree they're far worse. I always dread seeing that orange...
My experience with traffic court in Ohio leads to the following advice: accept the court date, go there, explain what happened, and walk out after the judge dismisses your case.

I'm just very doubtful because I've read so many stories in the newspaper about how no one gets these things dismissed.

Seattle is worse. Here we don't even have the left lane is the fast lane. They practice synchronized driving out here, where there's just a line of cars across all lanes going the exact same speed, so you can't pass around them.

Thank God some cities give tickets for passing on the right.
And if any of you guys travel PLEASE stay on the right side of moving sidewalks, escalators, and when someone says "On your left" kindly get out of the way.
If I am doing the max speed limit that impatient guy behind me can go around on the right on the four lane freeway. I'm not going to fishtail lanes back and forth just to get out of speeders way. Most of the time I'm in the Car Pool Lane anyways.
Speaking of motorcycles when you are in the far left lane it is couteous and advisable to stay faaaar left. Next lane over stay faaaar right. In California, motorcycles are allowed to pass making their own lane! The thought behind the law is for when traffic is stopped or at a crawl on the Freeway, but the speed limitation is the regular posted Speed Limit! Now throw in how a lot of the freeway lanes are being narrowed to just truck wide for said Car Pool Lane. I hope Sacramento wakes up and sets the "Motorcycle Passing Lane" to a speed limit of 15 mph applicable only when traffic is backed up.
On the other hand maybe there should be citations issued for blocking both sides of the escalator
I mean come on even going down, blocking both sides and too lazy to take a step?
