Continue? has been fantastic. They always seem to pick some really good games there. I can't wait till they get back to the older stuff.Gunstar Green wrote:I watch "Continue?" when I get nostalgic for my college days when my buddies would sit around and laugh and have a good time in front of some games. It reminds me of going through NES roms on the Dreamcast and playing random games we never heard of. Good times. I've got to be in the mood for that kind of humor though. I'd usually rather watch them than Game Grumps or something similar though.
Gamesack is one of my favorite channels right now. I've been posting on Sega-16 since 2006 so it was great to see Joe on his own show and they do a fantastic job. It's one of the most interesting and informative shows and the Sega/Nintendo goofing on each other is entertaining. I've actually learned things about games I'm not terribly familiar with from watching Gamesack and that's not something I could say of a lot of youtube channels.
I've been watching Classic Game Room since he brought it back, I just love Mark's deadpan style and his opinions on games very frequently coincide with my own. Even if I don't watch any other videos I usually always check CGR daily. I can get why a lot of people dislike his stuff though since he's not always terribly informative.
I watch Metal Jesus as well, really liked his "Atari 2600 games that don't suck" videos especially. The Gamecube hidden gems have been good so far as well.
Game Sack and Metal Jesus I started watching from here on RB after reading about them. MJ's Gamecube gems has been very good and I like how GS does the research as they present their games every week, even the facts and trivia are good to know.
CGR has been super helpful in purchasing decisions. Some many not appreciate the delivery but the screenshots and videos are always easy to follow and really make it easy to decide if a game is any good or not. (Starsky & Hutch for the GBA? Who knew (it would suck so bad??))
I'll throw a couple your way.
For LP's, check out ZetaPlays. He created a special wheel in Flash (?) to randomly pick a game every time he plays. Focuses on NES/SNES/Genesis, even an occasional indie title. And yes, he plays Japanese games too.
Another good channel is GamingHistorySource. Want to know more about certain ports that a game received? He will go through nearly all computer and console versions of a game. Each video has a lot of fascinating history. The latest video is for Lode Runner, which I think is the 2nd most ports he covered (the most was for Bubble Bobble, that's a 2-part video.)
Oh yeah, and as Hazerd said, Cubex55 for longplays that are commentary-free. Especially good are the many consoles they will cover, even CD games.
