So I'll just go with the flow... Earthbound is a terrible game. Please stay out of the market for SNES cartridges so the rest of us can afford them and keep drinking your post-N64 Haterade. Good grief.
I don't like to complain...I just do it because I dislike something or don't agree with something and like to voice my opinion.

Prices of games like chrono trigger and super mario RPG are still a bit high even after re-releases in other consoles.

I was on that same boat... then i saw some cool games on the wii, saw how cheap it is and now im planning on gettin one soon.
I'v seen very few "cool" games on it. The only one i'd be willing to play would be Super Mario Galaxy. It seems pretty interesting and I usually like Mario games in general so...can't be horrible.

I suppose if the damn Wii didn't have stupid controls I might use it more...I heard that for a few games you can use the Gamecube controller. I wish all Wii games let you do that. The motion controls are one of the main reasons I hate the Wii so much.

But that reminds me I need to get a better GC controller...one the joystick is freaky and won't work right, the second is a third party controller which I dislike using and the 3rd I got for free because someones cat chewed on the joystick so I have to use tape on it but the tape keeps sliding around -_-...

Right now I think I've played most video games one would consider important. Sure, I should revisit Shenmue and Deus Ex but I've already played them.

On the analog side there are more games I really should play. I haven't played Settlers of Catan, I haven't played Hannibal: Rome vs Carthage or Dune and the traditional games like French Tarot and Bridge are completely unknown to me, which I consider a mark agaisnt me in my critic card.

Ive never claimed to be amazing at video games, and Metroid just seems so frustrating to me that im afraid id just be mad the whole time playing it.
I don't think you'll be beating Castlevania anytime soon then. Metroid is easier than a depressed single bridesmaid with low self esteem when compared to Castlevania.

...So, you like to complain then?

Idk, maybe its just different for different people? From the time Ive spent with both games, Ive found Castlevania to be exceptionally easier than Metroid. My first day spent playing both games, I was able to get to the end of the 3rd level on Castlevania without much trouble minus the annoying Medusa heads. with Metroid however, even using a guide I wasn't even able to halfway finish the first area (Brinstar) without dying an ungodly amount of times. There were certain rooms I was just unable to complete no matter how many times I tried. I felt like Samus had literally no health, and I even 'cheated' and would just wait and kill the enemies that come out of pipes to get my health to 100. But then one or two hits later and its like your back at nothing.

Possibly, but the last level of Castlevania tests even the most seasoned 8-bit gamer. It's ruthless and relentless. Metroid basically stays at the same level of difficulty the entire game; Castlevania goes from "I got this" to "Fudge this game".

Castlevania is really methodical. It's honestly not super hard when you realize that you need to simply plan out your moves ahead and tread carefully as opposed to trying to simply rely on your reflexes.

FWIW the hardest part of Castlevania to me was the stage where the boss was Death.

-_-

Let's call it protest. Voicing an opinion about things someone doesn't like...thats a protest if i'm not mistaken.
