I have to renter my date and time everytime.

Can the internal battery be recharged by leaving the Dreamcast on over night or something?

I've only been playing 30 minutes to one hour every couple of days for the past week. Before that, the Dreamcast was in storage for 8-9 years.

I don't want to replace the battery, because I heard it is soldered on. So I don't want to break anything

Well, my Dreamcast gaming is going pretty well, thanks, but a bit slowly.

I've got a region-free BIOS mod on my console and built-in VGA adapter, so it outputs beautifully on my LCD-tv. Sound goes into the stereo splitter and is awesome.

I use a Dream-Connector to allow me to use my HORI Fighting Stick SS (Saturn) for shmups and fighters - of which I only have two:

Soul Calibur and Sturmwind!

Is it just me or is Soul Calibur STILL an outstanding game, and rather under-rated these days? I think it still rocks, and it's so cheap to buy as well.

Sturmwind is blowing my mind. This is really on a "dead" console? Can't believe it. I'm sure the disc has some secret Xbox 360 emulator built into it or something...

I intend to get some more shmups for the system when I can afford them.

Me too. It's awesome.

Well Sturmwind can be had reasonably priced from Play Asia, where I got mine. It seems to be cheaper there than from RedSpotGames I think.

I also have Fast Striker on order from Play Asia, but it'll be a few weeks before it arrives.

Nice collection. Games I would like to get include Skies of Arcadia, F355 Challenge, Space Channel 5, Vanishing Point, Zero Gunner 2, Triggerheart Exelica, Border Down, Trizeal, Radirgy, and probably a load others!

What's the deal with SOA and VGA compatability? Is it just the NTSC version that works?

Thanks for the advice. You're right, it's pretty reasonable on Play Asia.

Skies of Arcadia isn't compatible with the VGA. At least the PAL version isn't. I don't know about the North American or Japan version.

I'm not as into Dreamcast as a lot of classic gamers seem to be. I mean, I like my Dreamcast; don't get me wrong. I just don't see it as the be all, end of all of gaming like many gamers make it out to be (but the VMUs are pretty dang cool). So my collection isn't as great as others probably are:
-Carrier (Pretty good Resident Evil clone, actually, check this one out if you like RE.)
-Crazy Taxi
-Daytona USA
-Dead or Alive 2
-Dino Crisis
-Draconus: Cult of the Wyrm
-E.C.W.: Hardcore Revolution
-Elemental Gimmick Gear (E.G.G.) (Quite underrated. Futuristic steam-punk-eque setting, but with the gameplay of an overhead Zelda game.)
-Maken X (Strange little game, but oddly it's quite fun and addicting.)
-Marvel vs. Capcom: Clash of the Super Heroes
-Omikron: The Nomad Soul (Featuring original David Bowie music.)
-Quake III: Arena
-Shenmue
-Sonic Adventure
-Soul Calibur
-Spider-Man
-Test Drive 6
-Tony Hawk's Pro Skater
-Unreal Tournament
-Vigilante 8: 2nd Offense
-WWF: Attitude
-WWF: Royal Rumble

@BurningDoom

I think the Dreamcast has a great library, my problem with the console is that most of its games have been either ported or had better sequels. Even Shenmue is having an HD remake I believe .

Its killing the system uniqueness IMHO . Its really hard to justify the Dreamcast for RE3/Veronica , Jet Set Radio, Soul Caliber when you can find them all on PSN or successors to them on current gen. console.

Many gamers tend to hoard consoles to enjoy the rare and obscure Japanese releases but I am not into that. I just want to play good games, and not have to decipher Japanese letters. Others insist to get the original experience. I am ok with that but for me, my money+space+time is too limited to do such a thing.

There are some good games left I didn't enjoy on the Dreamcast but on my new HDTV I need a VGA converter+VGA->HDMI converter . Its just too expensive to get a better picture for the Dreamcast. I believe it will cost me something like half the price of a ps4.

I said this before I just felt like saying this again. This was the reason why this thread was opened in the first place.
