Anyone think the Wii Mini will be a rarity down the road?

A "rarity," maybe. Actually worth anything? Doubt it.

I really wish Nintendo had added some kind of additional feature to actually make the thing worth owning...I'm not sure on sales numbers though. I don't think they've been flying off the shelves.

Online functionality being completely removed was unfortunate, but probably made sense since those features will all stop working in a couple years. No SD slot is a bit inconvenient, but since you won't be downloading anything anyway it's not necessary (and removing the SD slot kills piracy concerns). Extremely limited video output, that doesn't even offer component video out? Well, that's the deal breaker right there.

I can look past most of the restrictions with an understanding that playing my retail games would still be worthwhile... but unless there is a way to mod the console to enable better quality (and more commonly supported) video output it's a non-starter for me.
It was bad timing, since the regular Wii was already dropping in price. It should have been released at the same time as the WiiU as a complete replacement Wii console, keeping all the features of the horizontal Wii. I like the compactness of it, but still prefer the vertical Wii for the Gamecube Controller ports though.

Back to Wii game value, anyone notice the current price of Tatsunko vs Capcom lately? Buy it now while it is low priced while you can! :!:

If your threshold is $20 ... just bite the bullet and buy it new it's $22.49

I believe the game was pulled because Capcom's Tatsunoko License expired. So, it would make sense to get it while you can.

Thanks for the heads up.

The current price at Gamestop is $17.99 with the Power Rewards card, you might get lucky since used copies might be retagged from new. This beats having to pay shipping and waiting for an online order.

I read this on GAF, it seems that the restock of Metroid Prime Trilogy has arrived in stores. However, I found it interesting that the packaging is different than the original release (i.e. not a steelbook.)

It comes in a standard Wii case with a printed cover.

I'm glad I got my steelbook CIB way back from Gamestop (it was only $44.99 at the time).
