Yeah, that's the big thing I disliked about KOTOR2, how abrupt the ending was. But I thought the characters as a whole were much more interesting than the ones in KOTOR1.

I thought this was awesome on the PC and played it to death. Didn't realize the console versions sucked, though - must be why it gets no love.

I didn't realize the PC version was good. Maybe I need to try it out. I had the console version for the N64, and thought it was fun until I ran into a brick wall of a difficult course. The N64 version did have a code that let you use two N64 controls to use each analog stick similar to how they use it in the movie, but that was pretty unplayable.

I'm assuming that other consoles handle the same as the dreamcast version -

You remember how the boost works on the pc? build up the first stage, which gives you more speed, and then press the turbo button... the trick was in having the first stage at max as long as possible for maximum speed and managing the engine temperature to allow you maximum time at turbo when in a straight line... The dreamcast version only lets you build up the first stage when travelling exactly in a straight line directly forward - the PC version seemed to allow you to build up this 1st stage of boost in the front 90 degrees of steering - forward/down and left maintains boost, but take your finger off down/forward and you have to build it up again... As a result you just can;t get the same speeds on the Dc version, and there's not the same challenge - it's like you only get the opportunity to build up the first stage boost, let alone the turbo, when you have a nice straight in front of you, which kind of does away with the point of a two stage turbo system. I do remember that the AI opponents on the PC version became ridiculously slow when you started to get into some serious podracing speeds :)

Star Wars Racer Revenge on Ps2 also utterly cocks up this boost system... pity. Dual analogue on the n64 sounds like it could be fun tho...

Ooh, ooh, exciting!! just been playing racer revenge on PS2 and it has dual analogue setup, independent control for each engine! It's useless, but exciting nonetheless!0!

1.KOTOR
2.Tie Fighter on PC
3.KOTOR II

I know people have complaints about KOTOR II not being a finished product, but it still improved upon most of the stuff from the first game. Even so, I like the original better and will agree with Mozgus that it is one of my all time favorite rpgs, and that's from someone who has played mostly japanese rpgs. It's the game that made me a Bioware fan, although I did also enjoy MDK 2 which they had released years earlier.

I didn't play so many SW games, but I did play (and greatly enjoy) Jedi Knight and its expansion pack.
