Saint's Row IV

Post by Sano »

Anyone else get this game? Its really fun. It is a game worth the $50, which is saying a lot with all the games they are throwing at us these days.

Looked half-assed to me, but then again, I played a lot of Saints Row The Third. Super powers aren't enough for me to pay another $50 for the same city and otherwise largely the same mechanics. It also is too far removed from the earlier Saints Row style for me at this point.

Sucks you don't like the game. Always a let down when a game doesn't meet your standards.

I thought they were fairly "Rise through the ranks of the Street Gangs" style gameplay, what happened?

They were, and even though The Third was absolutely nutty in every way, it was still at heart a gangster game (a really strange one). Now they've basically taken the same exact city to make Crackdown mixed with inFamous.

It was originally meant to be DLC and it shows for sure.

Looks.....interesting to say the least. I'll get it but I'm gonna wait until a GOTY edition comes out.

I own the first two, but can't ever get more than a few hours into the first as I find it a fairly horrid game.

Can I play The Third without having needing back story from the first two.

Sure, but the second game is dramatically better than the third to me. I couldn't bring myself to finish 3 after awhile, just got really bored and it felt pretty empty compared to the second game (which blows GTAIV away). 2's map is like 2-3x bigger too. With one of the faster cars in 3 you could drive around the entire city in 5 minutes worth or something.

I'd say this game looks better than 3, but yeah I don't know if that's saying much.

First game was whatever but a fun sandbox early this gen, 2 was a lucky shot, now it's just full on dick jokes and you like them or don't I guess.

The Crackdown comparison is not off at all though, so yeah it's like the games don't know what they want to be anymore or something.
