I love the black Tengen cartridge. As a kid I thought the damsel in distress was sexy as hell. I also thought I was fighting the KKK in the future as the enemies don hoods, march, and salute during short cut scenes. Plus it feels more like an arcade game.

Viper is great too, I simply prefer RT. Viper is very, very Capcomy. It has that Capcom feel and look to it, which is a great thing. Both games are challenging, but not difficult.

Yup! Both are great. CNV has a good story and is a very recognizable Capcom production. RT is a good arcade port and also a pretty decent Tengen release.

Too bad Mothra is useless.

Games Beaten 2013
1. Bioshock Infinite
2. Demon's Crest
3. Sacred Citadel
4. Dishonored
5. Bastion
6. Torchlight 2 *NEW*

Just finished playing through Torchlight 2 with my girlfriend. Got to level 56 with a dual wielding Outlander. Definitely an enjoyable dungeon crawler / hack n' slash game, and I look forward to my next play through with a different class.

8. Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow - Gamecube (April 6)
9. Half-Life - PC (April 25)
10. Fantastic Dizzy - Genesis (May 16)
11. Fatal Fury Special - NeoGeo (in MAME) (June 10)
12. Gun - Gamecube (June 15)
13. Road Rash Jailbreak - GBA (July 3)

17. TMNT Turtles In Time - Arcade (August 10)
18. *NEW* TMNT The Hyperstone Heist - Genesis (August 22)

Accurately described by a fellow forum member as the red headed stepchild of the far superior Turtles In Time, I felt bad for a Genesis owner who could only play this chopped and hacked up adaptation. There were a few spots where it had potential, but otherwise, anytime when I am happy a game is over, that is NOT a game that I'll revisit anytime soon.

Aww man. I like Hyperstone (a lot). Inferior to TIT? Sure, but I still enjoy playing it. That in mind, I like every TMNT game.

Does anyone know if the original Splatterhouse arcade game (not the TG-16 version) is an unlockable on the 360 game? For $9.99 (used) I'd pick it up just for that.

Yes it is. All 3 are. You don't have to get too far in the game to unlock 1 IIRC.
EDIT: Just read your thing about TG-16, not sure what versions are there, sry.

Thanks duder. There's a cib copy in my town...but will only hold it for one hour :(

Hopefully it will still be there tomorrow. Splatterhouse II on the Genesis was always a favorite of mine when I was a kid.

41. SteamWorld Dig (3DS) - 8/22

SteamWorld Dig was a game I hadn't even heard about until it came out. After hearing it was like Minecraft meets Metroidvania I was sold, and I found that it was an accurate description.

You're a robot in a world where it seems humans no longer exist. As the title implies, all gadgets are steam-powered. This means that anything beyond your basic pickaxe will require water.

As you dig you find minerals that you can then sell in the town on the surface. You then use that money to increase the strength of your tools, increase your health or the capacity of your water tanks.

It's a little puzzly in that you have to make sure you have a way out. If you just dig wildly, you may end up finding yourself stuck and you'll just have to keep digging until you find the next shortcut to the surface. You can buy portable teleporters or ladder pieces to help make sure that doesn't happen.

It took me around 6 hours to finish and was totally worth it. If you're into platformers with rpg-like progression then definitely check it out.

I really hate to disagree, but maybe if I played it "in the moment" that is, when the game came out, I probably would have liked it. Maybe I'm a bit too jaded. I could not stand that boss rush stage. That's out of place in this series. Imagine having to continue that a few times and it would start you over each and every time. Keep in mind, I played this on the HARD difficulty. Maybe if it was a bit easier, I'd have more fun?

You didn't get the special ending on Hard mode?

No harm no foul, like what you like, and again I'll admit that my buddies and I love even the crappiest of crappy TMNT games.

Hyperstone was, like Golden Axe, an arcade game at home, so I loved it. I think you could argue that TMNT 3 on the NES was a better game, and I wouldn't disagree with you, but I like Hype.
