Little Big Planet Sequel already being made!

Post by corn619 »

http://www.gamespot.com/news/6200106.ht ... es;title;2 I hate when they do this, the original was just released and theres already a sequel in the works. It kind of ruins the game knowing there will be another one in the near future. For example I just got Rock Band 6 months ago and it was just released 9 months ago and the sequel is out, WTF!!!! LBP is so deep that it will take years to fully take advantage of its tools. Knowing a sequel being released kind of takes away from this edition IMO.

Only if you let it.

If I told you the world was ending tomorrow, would that stop you from enjoying today? Don't let it.

I agree with heart of ZenLogikos's post, but understand the frustration.

I loved the concept of EA's new IP, Mirror's Edge, and applauded it's originality. They announced a sequel, and my heart sunk. Should still be an enjoyable game, the demo was thrilling, but I'm disappointed that game companies are announcing that they plan on milking the cow dry before it's even born...

I think that publishers are pushing start ups that have even the slightest momentum into franchise state perhaps too quickly. Much like Mirrors Edge, we won't find out until the release if the parkoque (!) are actually operational or not. I guess they have faith though (oh look, a pun!). It'll probably be a few years until there is a LBP2, hopefully Sony will be wise enough to gobble them up in that time, if they haven't already.

The parkour is great fun, probably helped with exaggerated in-game abilities. Some people I watched sucked at the demo hard - didn't get how to move around. Luckily, checkpoints are abound every thirty seconds or so. Me and two other people I watched flew right through it, though. The learning curve may be high for some, but the biggest complaint I heard was that folk couldn't see themselves playing this game for ten plus hours.
