Nothing is blocking the fan, but I can't tell if the fan is coming on or not. In a few hours I will open the radiator cap and put water in there as well. I never put distilled water in it, just water from the hose. What will happen if I mix the coolant with the regular water?
Putting tap water in it might actually be your problem. That's going to have all sorts of minerals and crap in it, especially around here. That leads to corrosion and buildup as that stuff dissolved in the water collects and deposits in the radiator. Distilled water is pure, nothing else dissolved in it. Generally you want 50% pure water and 50% coolant in your radiator. Honestly I'd see about getting the radiator flushed and filled properly sometime soon. Hopefully there's no stuck buildup and that will help by itself. But for right now, if you can get some of the water out and get some coolant in there it will probably help.

Coolant is necessary, water only in emergencies. Your car can still overheat with only water and the system is designed for coolant.

The man speaks the truth. Tap water is terrible, make sure you use distilled water, and distilled water only. You could be causing future problems.

A temp fix is 100% coolant, but you need to get your vehicle checked asap.

Short of an eight ball leather jacket, the guy definitely would be profiled as your typical thug, as much as I would be typically labeled as "Business Guy".

see, none of those things - even together - signify "thug" to me. They do signify a lower-incomer person that's adopted some conventional aspects of lower-income fashion/style/speaking, but that hardly makes them a "thug."
There is a 'thug life' type of look. Many are poor who choose not to have that style or presentation.

No you need a mix, you can usually buy it pre mixed. Even 100% distilled water won't work. I believe because water boils at a lower temp thelan the coolant mixture.

I had a coolant issue recently too. I noticed my car overheating enough to cause concern out of no where, and I stopped at the closest gas station out of paranoia to fill it with water for a temp fix. Next stop was an auto shop to get coolant, but I looked in the car manual first to see if I needed a certain type or whatever and it said "green only, no orange or blue"... Resident Evil puzzles?

Mostly moved in. Just a desk and dresser to take over and I'm all set! :mrgreen:

:( It's way too hot. This summer has been relatively brutal. At least we have been getting plenty of moisture. It has actually been noticeably humid a lot. Today you could have convinced me I was in Missouri.

See, none of those things, even together, signify "lower income" to me, at all. Are Lil Wayne and Ludacris of "lower income"? Obviously not. I take umbrage to your post. Not kidding.

Being a gang member does label and define someone as a thug. That's the entire point of being in a gang.
How do you know he was in a gang? Both of you are playing at stereotypes, and even though stereotypes can be right and I myself use them, they aren't a fair way to judge people. Some of the best people I know fit the stereotypes for gang bangers, and that's generally frowned upon around here and they are assumed to be in gangs. I actually considered getting a "pachuco cross" on my thumb/hand (the tattoo and placement from the Blues Brothers for reference), but I've decided against it because I've already had gang members assume I was affiliated, and I don't want in to happen any more often than it does.

Don't be a bigoted ass like me, don't assume. For all Luke knew, it may have been an act, or an attempt to be in that style despite not really being a "thug". I know lots of guys with gangbanger car's with 22's and who dress border-banger style, and have college degrees, one even with a PhD.

@Kit-
Did your problems start soon after getting the car, or was it after you owned it for a bit? I'm just wondering, because that isn't something I would have picked up on with a test drive. (Which I always do whenever possible. Its kind of a big deal to find a non 80's-00's car that runs for around $3500)

Because he was a Blood if you hadn't read the previous posts. That labels you as "in a gang".
