If the guy asked "Yo Money, what size are those?" my natural instinct would be to punch him in the face, and punch as hard as possible. I can smell a thief as well as I can smell a liar. Luckily this was just a thug who was also a sneaker head.General_Norris wrote:I thought he was going to rob you Luke
Frown: Wife won't get home until "late" tonight (hey, 8pm is late for work hours).
Smile: Planning a poker night with two of my buddies. I prefer four players, but I have no problem taking money from only two people. Plus there will be wings and booze!

Short of an eight ball leather jacket, the guy definitely would be profiled as your typical thug, as much as I would be typically labeled as "Business Guy".

If I ever see the woman that sold it to me, I might just deck her. 'In great condition' my ass. I should have has a mechanic check it out, but no. I trusted her because she was my 'friend'. At the very least, I have a few less than lady like words for her.
I'm here for your body.

That sounds like the average hoodlum.Luke wrote:Smiling from ear to ear: Had a finny exchange of words while filling my car's gas tank.
I'm filling the tank, minding my own, when I hear "Yo Pahdnah!". (For those of you who haven't seen Menace II Society or have never been around thugs, Pahdnah = Partner). I don't respond, as I don't respond to "Yo Pahdnah, yo homie, hey you, my man, hey hey!" etc.
I hear someone walking toward me and again hear "Yo Pahdnah!". This time I turn around and ask "Yeah, what?". At this point I think he's sizing me up as he's eyeballing me from head to toe. Then he asks "Yo money, where'd you get them adidas and shirt? Them shoes virgin tight".
I shook his hand and said "Aww man, you flatter me". We spoke for at least ten minutes about sneakers, and I also talked him into trying out the Banana Republic. The guy was a character. He said stuff like "Your shirt has that Carolina Pine green going on" and "Have you seen them adidas sambas that got a Craisin thing happenin'? That cranberry Crazy!".
You probably would have to be there to get how funny our exchange was, but the guy made my day.

That must have really sucked.KitKatCara wrote:I want to murder my car. If I can't solve the overheating problem tonight I can't make it to my school for the Open House. It's not mandatory to go, but I would be able to meet my instructors and visit the Museum of Funeral History. I want to make a good impression and this seemed like the opportunity to do so, but the P.O.S. hunk of metal and failure is preventing it. I had to drive home in 90 something degree weather from the DPS with the heater on full blast just to keep the stupid temperature below the red.

Lemon law?
Add coolant, blast the heat full throttle, and try to make it. If you can't make it to the Open House, an email explaining why you couldn't make it should be satisfactory.
