No impact / no idea; I just assume it was available there...in either case, the PS3 version is $20 now and looks as good / plays as good as the DC version *blasphemous, I know*; plus it has online scoring leaderboards.

@noise, 390K is pretty good considering you just popped it in for the first time recently. I think to get on the online new order leaderboard you need like 800K, so yr already halfway there...as you know i've been playing about a month and will put some runs in tonight to post a score...

I prefer Arcade Mode, but both look and play brilliantly.

For those wondering - New Order vs Arcade, the game is essentially the same, but New Order mode is "zoomed" in so everything appears bigger (but you can't see ahead as much) and there are more enemies / more bullets, BUT bosses and large enemies die faster, so a pretty even trade.

There are 3 hard adjustments to make to enjoy this game (but once you do, you'll love it)

-To aim your bullets to the sides you have to stop shooting, turn, then shoot, this takes practice but becomes second nature.

-Listening for your option full meter to know when to release it - your option is the most important feature and is critical to both scoring and survival. (I prefer cannon option)

-Your hitbox like most shmups is in the center of your helicopter, what makes it difficult is the bullets coming from those angles, and those bullets being so long, it's a different type of evasive maneuver. You need to learn to dodge bullets going forward/backward as opposed to more traditional side to side.

this is the hardest thing for me to adjust to, but I"m getting there. You forgot to mention that Arcade Mode has TATE. Anyway, I like Arcade better I think... first run there was 325k. No need to post an actual score there til I up it though.

I'm slowly starting to see why you like this game so much. At first when I had bought the JPN version I was like meh. It's alright. And I still don't love it, but spending a little more time and getting comfy with the hitbox and how things work, it def is starting to be a lot more fun than I had remembered.

I love this game (I'm not that good at it, but it's still awesome), but my NAOMI is not hooked to a TATE monitor right now. That might have to change.
