What Made you Smile/What Ticked you off Today?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

8) I have 11 days off from school (university) coming up - a little break between the summer and fall semester. I'm going to get some serious cleaning done and maybe do a little retro gaming.
:? Still have a programming final to take tomorrow.
The joke was that the weed was the performance enhancer...

Almost done with my book report, but it caused a discussion between me and my mom if love is a moral. Is it?

Love is an emotion, not a moral, and generally a foolish and poorly controlled emotion.

Thanks Kit. This made my night.

:? Getting all this attention at work is making me uneasy. People I've never even heard of are congratulating me and trying to spark up a conversation with me. I'm terrible at this sort of thing and just start to fidget in my chair. I don't think I like this... o.O

:D Weekend bound. Got some Godzilla movies to watch. :D

:? A good friend of mine is into LGTB rights and has been having some very rough days lately. Being a woman she is treated like dirt by the surprisingly common chauvinistic gays, being bisexual she is seen as a liar by lesbians (who tend to be very bisexual-phobic, sadly) and being cis she's seen as a privileged enemy by the transexual side.

It's sad to see her in the middle of so much infighting, specially since she's one of the nicest people I know.

:( Just wasted an entire freaking break fighting with my PSP. I don't remember SNES emulation being this bad. I got pretty far in Super Godzilla and now i have to restart. It keeps glitching up in the same spot no matter what I do. The rom is fine, because I've played it on my Linux box at home (md5sums match)

Tried playing some other games and they're lagging really badly too. Maybe it's just the emulator I have? I'm not sure which one I used to use, but this one is absolutely terrible.

Using: Snes9x Euphoria R5

As I was typing this I decided to do some research and it seems others also have issues with this specific emulator. Guess I'll try some others when I get home. Looking at these:

snes9xtyl0.4.2mecm <------Edit: This is the way to go! Much better :D

Smiling from ear to ear: Had a finny exchange of words while filling my car's gas tank.

I'm filling the tank, minding my own, when I hear "Yo Pahdnah!". (For those of you who haven't seen Menace II Society or have never been around thugs, Pahdnah = Partner). I don't respond, as I don't respond to "Yo Pahdnah, yo homie, hey you, my man, hey hey!" etc.

I hear someone walking toward me and again hear "Yo Pahdnah!". This time I turn around and ask "Yeah, what?". At this point I think he's sizing me up as he's eyeballing me from head to toe. Then he asks "Yo money, where'd you get them adidas and shirt? Them shoes virgin tight".

I shook his hand and said "Aww man, you flatter me". We spoke for at least ten minutes about sneakers, and I also talked him into trying out the Banana Republic. The guy was a character. He said stuff like "Your shirt has that Carolina Pine green going on" and "Have you seen them adidas sambas that got a Craisin thing happenin'? That cranberry Crazy!".

You probably would have to be there to get how funny our exchange was, but the guy made my day.

J.Crew grey slacks with leather belt, a white and green plaid BR shirt (sleeves rolled thrice), David Beckham Adidas loafers with black socks, and I look darned good.

That is business casual with style. Dressing in business professional clothes for a meeting over coffee is tacky. ;)
