Papers, Please

Post by KDub »

Did anyone get this yet? I've been playing it like crazy since it released on the 8th.

For those that don't know, it is a simulation game where you play a border guard in a dystopian society in 1982. You check passports, legal papers and deny or approve people entrance; all while trying to keep your nose clean and your family alive.

You can check out the trailers, demo and buy the game here http://papersplea.se/

p.s. I reviewed the demo a while back as well. http://imretroactive.com/video/retroact ... rs-please/

I ended up unlocking several endings, including the one that unlocks endless mode. So much fun!

I wish endless mode was more endless though, they are just challenges.

I thought it looked boring. It's actually good?

I love the little noise when you call the nest person. It the cherry on the top for the dystopian feel.

I haven't bought it yet, but I plan too. Games like this one and Gone Home as well as Miasmata have given me renewed hope for the PC indie scene.

I played this yesterday and had a lot of.....fun? Really though, it is an interesting game that should not be as engaging as it is. I felt that no matter how well I was doing, i could not get enough money to even feed my family, like I never had $20 to cover the food cost at the end of the day, so my family has never eaten since I started.

It is about getting speedy and not needing to stare at the rule book for every passport. The more people you process the more money you get. You get two strikes before a pay deduction so use those to your benefit while you learn.

Rotating heat and food can help save money too. But leaving either one off too long and someone can get sick then you have to pay for medicine.
