The fact that unintelligent and obnoxious let's players like PewDiePie, two best friends play and Game Grumps have millions of views when intelligent/borderline academic criticism and analyzing of video games and informative interviews with oldschool game developers don't have almost any kind of fanbase makes me loose my faith in humanity/gamers/gaming culture

Take Matt Chat for instance. He finds hard to reach older game developers, and asks questions of how many 1980s and 1990s classics came to be. It's fascinating to hear what the developers thought at the time etc. I made a thread about him here on Racketboy once and I think I got 0 replies. Shows how much people are interested in preserving video game history. It's good to hear what the developers of these games thought while making the games, what they think about them now etc while they still are alive. I can understand if some people don't like his style when he talks of games (he jokes around often), but he also talks about many great and important classic games that practically no body talks these days
My WTB thread (Sega CD/Saturn games)
Also looking to buy: Ys III (TG-16 CD), Shadowrun (Genesis) Hori N64 mini pad and Slayer (3DO) in long box/just the long box

I don't think I would be entertained by watching some random guy play a game and talk about it, I would much rather just play the game myself. A video review or something is one thing, but anything longer than 10 minutes I have no interest in.

It doesn't help that these guys usually make me want to unplug my computer and burn it after 10 seconds with the incessant "jokes" and irritating voices/comments, but then again I have no sense of humor and am easily irritated.
They're nifty for a walkthrough reference sometime.
Not really. When I watch a walkthrough I'm usually frustrated with the game and having somebody joking around and taking their sweet time can get frustrating.
Controlling volume is definitely hard.

Pretty much this.

I find that so many folks on YouTube, either intentionally or not, speak in a ridiculous "radio voice" and overenunciate damn near everything.

"HEEEEYYY this is BONE-Snap-DEEZ and I'm posting ooonnnnnnnnn RACKET! BOY."

I can't listen to that shit for more than 30 seconds.
This kind of people is REALLY annoying, i watch some let's players that seem to be "themselfs" during the game. I like the style of Protonjon he tries to play the game on 100% on the video but if he misses something he will show you in the end of it (like in RE 5). He just talks normaly and dosen't exagerate nothing.

ha ha. Can I control when they fuck around in the game and take their damn time? Don't say "you can skip it" because that ends up taking even longer.

Well I guess this is random but...I was catalogging my PS2 collection when I pulled out Red Ninja End of Honor. Anyone remember that game?

Anyways I always liked that game (it was one of the few games I actually finished...ever.), so I looked it up online to see if maybe they made a second game or something. Then I find out a ton of people hated it! The hell?! It's not a mind blowing game but it doesn't deserve the hate that it got.

Now I remember why I don't listen to reviews lol...I mean some games that people just HATE are really good in my eyes...while games that people love...I hate. Everyone has different tastes but...idk it's odd.

Oh and this isn't really a "gaming" thought, but on the subject of Let's plays and such on Youtube...maybe it's because I have a phobia about looking people in the eyes but I hate when the video is just a guys face and shoulders and he just talks. It unnerves me.

Hmmm...The PS blog tells me that if I pre-order the re-mastered Castle of Illusion I'll get the Genesis version for free.

Incentive achieved, Sony.

I hope I have enough money in my wallet...

Heh, yeah. It's not mentioned in the store update (at least online) and if you don't regularly check the blog it got buried under the 3+ page pile of updates from today. I'm glad I spent a little extra time back-tracking.

How many games do you have in your PS2 collection?

My PC has been giving me trouble lately. The last 3 months haven't been the smoothest sailing with regards to PC gaming for me. Not super bad by any means (other than the crappy GPU RMA process), but, little things. A noisy fan here and a driver error there; that sort of stuff.
