Re: EllertMichael's Video Games
After working in a record store for 6 years I'm all about the alphabetizing, but yeah, obviously sequels and the like have to go together!
Anyone else have other ways they store their games? My friend's brother colour coordinates his DVDs and it actually looks really cool on the shelf
a buddy of mine has a really cool wooden Nintendo game case that looks like an old bread box that he's had since he was a kid. it's pretty busted up now but I haven't seen another like it, and I've always wondered if it was official or not..

I actually got that about a year ago for free after trading in a genesis with a/v problems and a ps2 that wouldn't power on anymore to a store called GameZone in Salem, MA. I asked how much it was and the kid working there said it was broken and I could just have it if I wanted.. It's perfectly fine though, there's nothing wrong with it at all!Mr.James wrote:What prestine condition the Nintendo carring case is in, have you had it since it's release

Bump for long overdue update
I know it's not the most comprehensive game room thread on the forum, but if you have any questions feel free to ask.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy the pics!

The Egret II just screams class. So freaking gorgeous.
Awesome setup dude. Truly one of my fav rooms. My wife would never go for the shmup art, so i'll live that part vicariously through you.

Nice collection. Love the arcade cabinets.

Really nice simplistic and clean setup you got going on there. Second only to the "retail store" looking setups, this is one of my favorite looks.
Also, major kudos for the Clockwork Orange poster.

Thanks for the comments, dudes!
I caught a bit of flak from the purists on the CP, but "stock colours" (Sanwa Violet and Dark Blue) don't make sense with the panel & look like crap IMO. So I went with controls that bring out the colours in the panel. When I got the cab it had an Egret 3 panel on it, so I really appreciate finally having that original Egret II panel and wanted to "showcase" it a bit.
The Egret II is really nice, but it's not an easy cab to track down parts for.
Haha, here's what's in the Egret II panel:
LS-56-01's (P1 square gate, P2 octo gate - holy shit these sticks are great for shmups!)
Sanwa LB-35-M "MeshBall" Dark Hai (these balltops look custom made for the E2 CP. lovely.)
Sanwa OBSF-30 White rim/Dark Hai button (wasn't too sure about the white rims when I ordered the buttons, but the plunger turned out to be a shade of gray in between the two on the panel, so now I'm happy with the white rims because it breaks up those three shades nicely IMO)
Seimitsu PS-14-D Black rim/Green button (to bring out the bit of green in the panel
)
Custom Ketsui movestrip (again, love the bit of green text with the start buttons and Egret II logo)
After picking up the cabs I purged quite a few console games to recoup a bit, which explains the awkward gaps in the shelf.
Also, I need to clean up all those boxes and find some long and skinny artwork to nicely fill that wall above the Consoles/TV/MVS.
One thing about my setup I'm proud of is managing to have all those consoles hooked up at once without switcher boxes or too much mucking about.
That Clockwork Orange poster was a Birthday gift from a few friends of mine. I love it.
But the picture makes me realize you can't read any of the Wii/GC/Xbox games hiding down there
Yep. This would be the placemeat wrote:So this is where i take u to school in mario kart wii??
Thanks, Mike. My girlfriend has her own art studio room in the house, so she pretty much lets me go nuts with the living room.mjmjr25 wrote:The Egret II just screams class. So freaking gorgeous.

Cheers, jinx! Could be cleaner....jinx wrote:Really nice simplistic and clean setup you got going on there. Second only to the "retail store" looking setups, this is one of my favorite looks.

Re: EllertMichael's Video Games (Last Updated Aug '13)
"The Shelf" (Console games) pics updated.
I've been wheeling & dealing pretty hard lately in the brick & mortar stores in my area, placing serious emphasis on my US Saturn collection. Most notably completing the Panzer Dragoon Trilogy
I know, I know, decent US Saturn games in the WILD?! Pretty uncommon. That's why I've been striking while the iron is hot.
Got rid of a bunch of "bulk" in the process, such as my Gamecube and Turbografx-16 collections, but with my modded Wii I still have the means to enjoy all those same games so I'm not terribly broken up over it. Plus some double consoles/accessories that have been sitting in my closet for the past few years now. A few arcade sticks, but now that I can run consoles in my cabs I don't have much use for them. So considering I've added some pretty nice titles to my Saturn collection without paying a penny out of pocket, I think I've made out pretty well.
Enjoy the pics!
EDIT: if you're having trouble reading the spines of games try right-clicking and "view image" to see a nice big version
