Custer's Revenge?

dont look it up

One more thing you should do when you have the time is to clean the contacts on the games.

These games are over 35 years old now. And definitely covered in grime.

Get some q-tips, cottonballs and alcohol. Some may need a little swiping.

And You cant really take official Atari carts apart since you'll ruin the sticker.

Get a small nail or Paper clip and push on either of the notches on the side to push in the spring to gain acess to the contacts.

One thing that will defintely happen when you own atari carts is that the labels will come loose. Its gonna happen. When You find games you'll find faded or damaged labels, which will still play but wont look visually pleasing.

I dont know it other people here will balk with the advice I'm gonna give you, but its better than nothing...

If your carts sticker starts to peel off you can use White School glue to put it back. 35 year old glue has lost its stickyness. Dont put too much now, since it may glop out of the sides.

You can put some small weight on top of a cart to help the glue dry, but some areas are harder to glue than others, Especially on parker brothers games.

One last thing about atari games is to watch out for certain areas of a cart. Some carts have missing areas of plastic and the labels right over it. You may find some carts damaged or you might poke it by accident.

dont ask and you shall recieve!

Oh I know about that game...only from watching videos on youtube lol.

Well interestingly enough all of my games (besides two of them) were sealed in a plastic misc bag from a thrift store that's no longer around...they sat like that in a pastic bin in my basement for...well about 22+ years because my parents owned them and their Atari before I was born...looks like they never played with these games...I still have hopes I can find their Atari in mint condition...maybe still sealed in the box...I doubt it but I don't think they played it often or at all.

Anyways I'm pretty sure these games are clean...but some of the labels are starting to come up...I'll keep the glue thing in mind.

There is a better way to reattach the labels without damaging them. Just use double sided tape. I picked up some Removable Double Sided Scotch tape the other day for $2-3 and it works just fine. It holds the label firmly but can be peeled off and removed without any permanent damage if you ever need to remove it.

As for controllers I just found something pretty cool :). Bought a power clutch SG for the genesis the other day and decided to try it out on the 2600 and it works perfectly with space invaders, asteroids and river raid. Might make this one of my main sticks for the 2600. Turbo also works just fine on the games that can benefit from it. Tried it on Asteroids and a single button press will give you a two shot burst or you can hold the b button down for a semi constant burst fire.

Got it for $5 which I thought was a steal, but when I went online I found out there are some listed on Amazon for $10 or less shipped. Still got a decent deal but not as good as I thought, but I have no clue how they are making any profit at the prices they listed :P. Looking around the web it looks like they are pretty dang cheap everywhere don't know why though they are pretty hefty and control pretty well :).

There are some listed on Amazon for around $7 shipped even :P.
