That is slick. Please show the insides of that cart. I know its very unlikely, but imagine if it were not a hack but a cart slot inside to pop in any Game Gear game!

Xbox Halo 2 Map Pack - $5.00 Swap Meet
Now this is the way all DLC should be as an option, on disc for an ALWAYS available offline install. Even though online multiplayer support went away, the maps work great for Split Screen or Link play. Also included are developer preview videos of each new map and additional video clips of Halo 2. :D

Xbox Ninja Garden - $1.99 PlaynTrade
I bought this for being Xbox exclusive and also due to the very sweet price. Decent sword play with 3d platforming thrown in.

This was rescued from PlaynTrade's under five dollar rack. Most titles were faded sunburned from being displayed outside in front of the store every day. The employees finally kept the dump bin inside though too late for many of the titles which had badly faded spine covers. Some of the game cases had completely ripped clear plastic, brittle from the sun. A horrible state compared to games I have seen on the tables at the Swap Meet.

Xbox Mortal Kombat Deception Kollectors Edition - $10.00 Swap Meet
Seller wanted twenty, talked him down to ten two hours later. A little pricey for an older Xbox game, but it does include the outer cardboard liner. I also own the PS2 version, but the Xbox releases usually have a little crisper graphics. Disappointing it was missing the "baseball" card, but the Manual and Midway warranty card are both crisp. Ah well, still nice to have since it is the collectors edition with the bonus fighter bios videos along with the MK1 game in the 2nd disc. Not sure which exclusive fighter cover is the rarest, I think the disc content is the same though.

Wii Octomania - $9.99 New $0.89 Used Gamestop
Crappy title, but a nice puzzle game. Yet another new game that Gamestop retagged as used. There are at least four stickers on top of each other on the front of the game case. The game is a different take of match the blocks similar to Puyo Puyo and Sega Swirl. Once a set of correctly numbered blocks are spun into a given grid, adding more of the same colored blocks in the swirl clouds increase your return attack power.

One thing I wish Nintendo would have done is display an icon on the back of the game cover to show sideways control capability. Confirmed this game is which works great with my Wiimote NES/2600 Mod. Since only the DPad and one button is needed, I can play this game with a Wico stick.

DVD Jib Jab Early Years - $1.99 New Sealed Thrift Store
Surprise DVD Find, didn't even know this existed. The flash videos were popular years ago, I even extracted a few of the SWF files to my hard drive. Now in crisp DVD video watchable on the big screen, a hilarious virtua dartboard of your favorite politicians. Not as funny now, but I still crack up at the shout "Good God, He's come back to serve a second term!" and Clinton getting slapped by Hilary again.

Genesis Sonic Knuckles Lock On Cart - $3.00 Swap Meet
I bought this strictly to try out on my Genesis PlugnPlay and confirmed it works just fine. Still need to pickup Sonic 2 and 3 to try in the slot and make it complete.

PC/Mac Microsoft USB Sensor Mouse 3 and 5 Button - $5.00 both Swap Meet
Microsoft Mice have a very nice response cursor speed compared to most other mice. Always nice to have a few extra.

My local game store has one of those carts, and while it is probably more than I care to pay, I was considering picking it up. How is it?

It was from your store sir, since the package came from Charlotte. The one I grabbed was $40 plus shipping. They have another listed that's $36 with higher shipping, so about the same. I actually own the EU and JP GG carts already, but I thought it was pretty cool and I'm a sucker for Compile stuff, so I grabbed it for grins. It is using this hack FYI.

Nope, it is a hack burned onto an EEPROM and swapped onto a donor cart. The GG has a higher color palette than the SMS and the resolution is also different, see the link above. Plus there is no start button on the SMS. It took me a moment to figure out to use the system's pause button to start the game.

Just picked up Persona Collector's Edition (PSP) for $20 at a local retro game shop.

The guy remembers I bought Knights in the Nightmare a while back so he gave me a free guidebook!

It's a toss up between Rayden and Scorpion for the rarest Collectors Edition MK Deception.
Melinna is easily the most common of the four. Think it goes:

1. Scorpion
2. Rayden
3. Baraka
4. Melinna

If you can find somebody who actually wants it. It's... well it was a better attempt at the Dredd universe than the Stallone movie maybe, but it's not very good.

this. and also, $12-25? on what planet? all versions of the game run about $5-9 from what i can see.

still $3.88 is a decent price for a decent FPS.
