There's no evidence that these are reprints. Isn't it possible that GS never put out all their stock or, instead, had all the copies that were traded in since release sent back to HQ for cleaning/polishing and then shipped back to the stores when the market was right? That seems a more likely scenario. When Rez was reprinted, they were open about it. If Xenobalde were the same scenario, why wouldn't they be open about that now?

Your assuming that they were smart and cocky enough to know their game was going to be so great that withholding "X" amount of copies would come in handy later? Idk what fairy tale world your living in. Why would they be open? If their open they can only sell the game for $50 but If the secretly get reprints, unwrap them and stick em' on a shelf they can charge $40 more. Although I do believe a small portion is trade-in's and HQ copies. Also, like I said it's a conspiracy theory.

I'm pretty sure GS can sell new or used games for whatever price they like. I'm also pretty sure that they knew from the start that the game was made in limited quantities, so storing their trade in copies (which they've been asking for/promoting for months) and/or holding some unwrapped stock in reserve is smart.

Of course they can sell at the prices they want but would you buy Xenoblade at gamestop new for $90 when next door you could get it for $50? Also, limited quantities doesn't necessarily mean a good game but sure it's a good shot to keep some just in case but not as many as have popped up. So you for one second don't believe that GS would do some stuff like this? Nintendo just needs to release a downloadable copy and the inflation will vanish.

Been in 4 Gamestops and each one had a copy. They were all in damn near perfect shape, like the new stock that they opened up. I am beginning to wonder if they get anything new with the seal in tact. Do they just buy store copies without the seal? Seems like a lot of labor cost to pay people to open games.

Gamestop has been around the block enough to know that Nintendo + Limited Printing = Instant Collectors Inflation.

I'm not sure how it is still an argument, they stashed away a bunch of new (and likely good shape used) copies and waited.
