Are you guys maybe thinking of the Yellow Devil in MM 1 and 3?

Re: Games Beaten 2013
Platinums/100% Achievements:
Tales from Space: Mutant Blobs Attack - Vita
Guacamelee - PSN (including all DLC trophies)
Shinovi Versus - Vita
Hotline Miami - PSN
*New* Mark of the Ninja Special Edition DLC
The new level is fun. The two new items are great. One is especially fun to use, but both are very useful. The developer commentary stuff is nice, but it's ashame it's all stuff you have to read and nothing you can actually listen to. Mark of the Ninja is one of the greatest games of all time, and this DLC just makes it a little bit better still. This is as close to a perfect stealth game as you'll ever find.
*New* Charlie Murder
What a jumbled mess of a game. There's so much crap here that should have been refined or just taken out of the game completely. It's a bloated game and goes back and forth between fun and frustrating. There's enough bad here to cancel out all the good leaving a rather mediocre game when all is said and done. The whole thing just left me feeling very "meh". This is the weakest game from Ska Studios. It's not nearly as focused and polished as Dishwasher Vampire Smile was, a big step down from that game.
Fist Puncher is still my favorite brawler to come out this year. Neither Charlie Murder nor Dragon's Crown ended up being as great as I personally wanted them to be. I always say less is more, and while Fist Puncher is a much simpler game than both of those titles, it's also much more consistently fun.

Yeah. I went through a phase of utter obsession with MM 1-3 and they kind of all blend together as the same game to me.pierrot wrote:Are you guys maybe thinking of the Yellow Devil in MM 1 and 3?
Re: Games Beaten 2013
I completed Mega World not too long ago, and was a little obsessed also, so I can relate. I have a harder time of remembering which robot masters are from which game, though. (Aside from in the first game.

Re: Games Beaten 2013
Portal for the 360. I've been playing it off and on since I first got The Orange Box, which is right around the time I first got it. I've been in no hurry to beat it since it's just fun to play, even when I get to those "dead ends" where it takes me ages to get past.
Also, if anyone's looking to make a Portal MV, I'd recommend "Take the Pill" by Emilie Autumn. The song also goes great with creepypastas, many of which yours truly's been sharing on Facebook as a celebration of getting over my issues with so many of them, though I still have unnerved nights if the TV's not on.

I'm putting DMC3 down twice because I basically completed the campaign 7-8 times back to back (all modes for Dante, then a Vergil Yellow Orb run). AND GOT THE PLATINUM. My first... I told myself it'd be funny and memorable to make DMC3 of all games the first and well, I did it.
DMC1, DMC2, and DMC4... probably some of my favorite action games of all time. I'm huge on the first Ninja Gaiden (Xbox), but man, DMC has a lot of charm and I like the addition of guns and such. The styles thing in DMC3-4 was really awesome and I love how well designed the games were with NG+ runs in mind. Once you plow through the game once and get through the goofy plot, you can just burn through the levels like an arcade game almost. While your items and stuff carry over to the higher difficulties, which is awesome, the enemies, placement, etc, start changing enough that all that's happening is you're evolving with the difficulty itself and don't exactly have a crazy advantage. You get a tighter grip on the depth of the combat and it just feels so badass and rewarding. Some of the best difficulty curving/evolution ever.
I'll shoot for the DMC1 platinum in the near future, but hot damn I need a break now. My fingers hurt... (old lady voice).
I'm not sure which is my favorite. Vergil is super fun to play as though and I loved the bosses in DMC3, even if they made me rage. Fighting Vergil himself... I love when crazy games like this end up having very human-like (as in, they're playable with nearly the same moveset) final bosses, like Vergil here. It feels more awesome than taking on some giant monster most of the time.
I noticed DMC1 has the RE1-3 composer though and it really showed, the music in that one stood out a ton.
(stuff like this would be perfect in Dark Souls...)
I think this one had the best atmosphere by far, but DMC3-4 take the gameplay to the next level. I'd easily put these games on the same level of the classic RE's, Metal Gear Solid, and such for me. Doesn't get much better.
brunoafh already summed up what I'd probably say about DMC2 myself, though I had no nostalgia attached. It was bare bones and just sucked. I'd probably put ZOE1 above it for me this year, but that's not saying much... lol. Weak. Nice to play it myself to see what the fuss is and yeah, never touching it again. But I can see DMC1, 3, and 4 being stuff I revisit forever.
In final, I'd also say I personally think this is the best looking HD collection I've played so far. Maybe the original games already looked this good, the MGS collection was perfect, but these games really popped out and looked very top notch in beefed up clarity and widescreen.

First 99:
100. Top Gun NES
101. Altered Beast SMS
102. Galaxy Force SMS
103. Reggie Jackson Baseball SMS
104. After Burner SMS
105. Space Harrier SMS
106. Rolling Thunder NES *new*
107. Code Name Viper NES *new*
Fun times. Code name Viper is definitely the better game. Better music, better graphics, better storyline, better gameplay. But I like Rolling Thunder more for some odd reason. Nostalgia definitely has something to do with it.
I love the black Tengen cartridge. As a kid I thought the damsel in distress was sexy as hell. I also thought I was fighting the KKK in the future as the enemies don hoods, march, and salute during short cut scenes. Plus it feels more like an arcade game.
Viper is great too, I simply prefer RT. Viper is very, very Capcomy. It has that Capcom feel and look to it, which is a great thing. Both games are challenging, but not difficult.

Re: Games Beaten 2013
Actually the original games are kind of notorious for looking rather grainy, so this was definitely a noticeable upgrade. That's not to say the original games don't look good, but if you look at some footage or pictures you'll probably see what I mean pretty quick. Also some have joked that in DMC 3 Dante's hair helmet doesn't look as bad.Xeogred wrote:In final, I'd also say I personally think this is the best looking HD collection I've played so far.
